N.V. Opus One Overture
90 points
A blend of wines from the 2010 and 2011 vintages. Medium weight, pure fruit flavours, floral aspect, subtle oak, gentle and ripe tannins, stylish, more about elegance than about weight, lovely length.

2009 Opus One
95 points
A blend of 81% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, aged for 17 months in 100% new French barriques, 14.5% ABV. Riper, sweeter, darker fruit than the 2011 that followed it, flowers, velvety texture, medium body, calm, ripe oak tannins, perfect balance, very precise winemaking, elegant sweetness of fruit; very good length. Very stylish rendition of Californian Cabernet, very expressive of vintage and place. Drinking beautifully already and will probably continue to do so for another 5-10 years.

2011 Opus One
93 points
A blend of 71% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, aged for 18 months in 100% new French barriques, 14% ABV. Leafy note on the nose, relatively light style, mineral freshness, bright fruit, slightly grippy tannins from the skins, cranberry, very pure oak expression, develops a nice hint of creaminess, bright acidity, hint of chocolate on the finish. Needs time but should turn out allright - the balance is there. Drink 2017-2026.
