Sandlewood and tree fruit palate. Cream, vanilla, and oh, so smooth.

White - Sparkling
N.V. Pierre Péters Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Cuvée de Réserve France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Disgorged Feb 2011.
Again, not really showing much maturity. Lemon cream and vanilla to the nose. Palate gets into some minor white floweriness. Brioche and some almond to the palate. Smells like vanilla ice cream.
Red
1978 Fattoria Selvapiana Chianti Rùfina Riserva Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Rùfina
Dried out red cherry fruit. Brown leaf. No tannin, a little more than medium acid. Not just crying for food. No real oxidation to speak of, no nutty notes. Dare I say more fruit than earth, while not loads of fruit, also not just an earthy/brown leafy bomb.
Red
2007 Dutton-Goldfield Pinot Noir Dutton Ranch Freestone Hill Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Black cherry on the palate. Wild spice on the palate. A big and rich PN. Gone.
White
2013 André et Michel Quenard Vin de Savoie Chignin France, Savoie, Vin de Savoie Chignin
White
2008 Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay Dutton Ranch Rued Vineyard USA, California, Sonoma County, Green Valley of Russian River Valley
Not real tropical. Cream, hazelnut, hazelnut. Integrated oak, probably not quite the acid of the '05 we had a year and a half ago.
Red
2010 Folk Machine Pinot Noir Shapes/Shadows USA, California, North Coast, Potter Valley
Strawberry, rhubarb, cinnamon, super juicy ripe sweet fruit notes. Losing some of the cinnamon and spice notes, making for more of a fruit loaded upfront style. Über-juicy.

Red
2007 Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy Barbaresco Martinenga Camp Gros Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco
Orange, tar, cherry at pop and pour. firm and fleshy on the palate, but giving up much enjoyment right from the get go. tannin is not too over the top, I could say medium, but it's medium plus. grassy, green and mossy on the palate too.
Red
2007 Bodega Catena Zapata Nicolás Catena Zapata Argentina, Mendoza
now this wine is wound up. TIGHT. big and dense, but not too expressive off of the nose. dark black and some teased up baking spice. but again, really wound tight and not too giving at the moment. palate is much more giving. full, dark and brooding, with some fresh blackberry fruit appeal. loaded wiith fresh wild fruit spice, some violet floral nuance to the palate. medium/+ tannin.
Day 2. Full and black fruit, open. Violet floral. Needs a day of air
Red
2004 Smith-Madrone Cabernet Sauvignon USA, California, Napa Valley, Spring Mountain District
at pop and pour, blackberry and iron, some graham cracker. the first green note, just blew right off. lots of lift on the palate, not really that this has much spice at all. just a dream to drink right from the start.
