Introduction

My wife Linda picked this place, one of our favorites, many months ago and tonight was so special it was beyond all previous expectations. Great friends who dug into their cellars, great company, fun with balloons, cake, hats and sunglasses as we just had a ball. The staff and the food were clicking on all cylinders and didn't miss a beat to help with celebrating this milestone. Thank you to everyone who participated in celebrating my 60th.

Flight 1 (1 note)

Scallop/mustard blossom/lobster/lemongrass

White - Sparkling
1980 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Oenothèque France, Champagne
92 points
Great color, golden, fragrant nose, good finish, showed too much of up its age.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Begonia/preserved garlic/shrimp/pea sprout and then parsnip soup/spiced french beluga lentils/ginger.

White
2013 Merryvale Chardonnay USA, California, Napa / Sonoma, Carneros
91 points
Refreshing, unlike a true Chardonnay this drank more like a Sauvignon Blanc with lots of grasses. Drank over an hr which grew in the glass and paired very well with the food.
