La Ferme de la Ruchotte: Wines with Lunch
Bligny sur Ouche - Burgundy
Tasted June 27, 2015 by Burgundy Al with 280 views
Introduction
My first time at this great little restaurant that is as close to farm-to-table as possible. I guess this is more like farm-is-table. Multiple return visits will be required.
Flight 1 (10 notes)
White
2013 Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet
90 points
Apple, pear, subtle spice throughout. Very elegant, very well balanced. A great Villages wine.
White
2013 Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie
91 points
Bigger and more lush vs Villages. Moderate length, moderate power, with the fruit being the highlight here.

Red
2007 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes
90 points
Spice driven start with black and red berries throughout. Forward and pleasurable right now, with nice textures nuances at the finish. 2014-2027.
Red
2006 Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts
93 points
Still showing its youthful exuberance, here are lots of rich red cherry and berry flavors and aromas. Huge spice. Some liked this as much as I did, while others found it still too primary.
Red
2006 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echezeaux
92 points
Spice driven start with lush and powerful red and black cherry coming across as very fresh on the nose, slight notes of maturity starting to emerge on the palate.
Red
2002 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru Les Pèzerolles
89 points
Earthy black fruit aromas and flavors with impressive minerality on the palate. Nicely textured. Mature for a 2002, but sturdy so I'd have no fear of it deteriorating.
Red
2013 Jean-Marc Vincent Santenay 1er Cru Gravières
90 points
I am not really familiar with this producer, but it comes highly recommended by somebody I respect. Fresh black cherry with moderate spice and good energy. I feared rough, rugged edges, but this is an elegant, balanced wine that is fun to drink now, but with upside potential.
Red
2013 Domaine Vincent and Sophie Morey Santenay 1er Cru Passetemps
88 points
While I didn't enjoy this quite as much as the Gravieres, it also showcases high quality black fruit and subtle spice. This is sturdier so might turn into a more interesting wine, but I found it showing some rough edges on the finish today.
Red
2009 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echezeaux
94 points
Incredibly fresh red and black cherry aromas and flavors, barely evolved at all. Up early vibrant and energetic, while also a real powerhouse. Huge baking spice throughout, unmistakably Vosne.
Red
2013 Domaine de l'Anglore Véjade
I was told this is a Mouvedre blend. Very unimpressed. Green, underripe? Bitter finish.
