Flight 1 (4 notes)

White
2005 Château Pierre-Bise Savennières Clos le Grand Beaupréau France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Savennières
89 points
Ap: Dark golden yellow
Ar: Ripe apples, honney, quince
Full bodied and suprisingly low acidity for a Savenniers, however, it Worked great with mussels in spicy curry and cream.
Medium length

50+5+13+15+7

For me it appeared rather untypical for a Savenniers with it's low acidity. In this particular case it worked fine with the food.
Red
2010 Domaine Alary Cairanne La Font d'Estevenas France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Cairanne
Ap: Dark purple
Ar: plums, pepper
Full bodied, rather smooth tannins and appeared slightly unbalanced at this point. I think it has stuffing for more years, so I will leave it for two more before touching them.
Medium to good length

In my notes I had only a grenache based wine, so I was rather suprised of the strong touch of Syrah pepper.
Do to that mistake we had it with turkey, which was not a disaster, but not a perfect match either.
