Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2011 Barone Ricasoli Chianti Italy, Tuscany, Chianti
78 points
Transparent light red. Cherries and candy in the bouquet like Gamay wines. Not very expressive on the palate, but there are some cherries as well as a touch of sweetness. Medium+ acidity. In fact a sad Chianti which tastes like a Beaujolais.
Red
2011 Domaine de la Butte Bourgueil Le Pied de la Butte France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Bourgueil
83 points
Purple red. Dark as well as red cherries in the bouquet. Quite tasty on the palate with a lot of cherries, spiciness, some chocolate and bell peppers. The tannin is a bit sticky. Medium length. Might improve a bit with a few more years of cellaring. Try in 2015.
Red
2011 Evohé (Bodegas Leceranas) Garnacha Viñas Viejas Spain, Aragón, Vino de la Tierra Bajo Aragon
83 points
Cherries and some fruit yoghurt impressions in the bouquet. Although the wine is a bit reticent there are a lot of ripe cherries on the palate. Some sticky tannin, firm acidity and some spiciness. A good wine, but I am not really impressed. Drink now and the next few years.

Flight 2 (2 notes)

Red
2010 Les Vins de Vienne Côtes du Rhône Les Cranilles France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône
84 points
Quite light, ruby red. In the bouquet cherries and some earthiness. On the palate youthful and tasty with a lot of alcohol. There is some spiciness, white pepper, salty impressions, ok acidity and mild tannin. It is recognizable as a Southern Rhone wine, but in fact quite disappointing for a 2010.
Red
2010 Domaines Astruc Vin de Pays de l'Hérault dA Vieilles Vignes France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Vin de Pays de l'Hérault
86 points
Dark blood red. Fairly deep bouquet with minerality and some barnyard, but no real luxury. On the palate minerals, blood, black as well as red fruits, firm acidity and soft tannin. A really nice wine. Drink now and the next few years.

Flight 3 (2 notes)

Red
2008 Chateau Musar Musar Jeune Red Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
84 points
Clear ruby red with a slightly carmine rim. The bouquet is fruity, but also a bit reticent. Creamy mouth feel with ripe red fruits, some sweet spices, vanilla and raspberries. A touch of sweetness, soft acidity and mild tannin. A nice, but not really exclusive wine.
Red
2007 Chateau Musar Hochar Père & Fils Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
84 points
Clear carmine red. In the bouquet ripe red fruits and quite much alcohol. On the palate the same impressions. Ripe fruits, some laurel, sweetness and ok acidity. Hardly any tannin and soft bitterness. An ok, but not really impressive wine.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
2007 Château Tour des Gendres Bergerac Le Classique France, Southwest France, Dordogne, Bergerac
84 points
Clear blood red. Bouquet with ripe dark fruits and a touch of sweetness. On the palate a mouth filling wine with a firm amount of acidity, tart red fruits and cherries, some bell peppers as well. Vanilla from the oak. Slightly sticky tannin. Not really refined, but an ok wine. Ready now and the next few years. 83 - 85

Red
2005 Château Clarke France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Listrac-Médoc
88 points
Very dark blood red. Beautiful bouquet with luxurious oak, ripe dark fruits and sweet spices. On the palate concentrated, sweet spices, dark fruits, some smoke and tobacco. Good acidity and fairly mild tannin with a firm bite. Special and modern made wine. Ready now and no problem keeping this until 2017 or a bit later.

Flight 5 (2 notes)

Red
2007 Quinta do Cerrado Dão Cunha Martins Reserva Portugal, Beiras, Dão
86 points
Clear almost purple red. A bit reticent bouquet with some earthy, dusty, creamy and lactic/yoghurt impressions. On the palate red fruits, some vanilla from the oak, sweet spices, elegant acidity and a touch of sweetness. Medium length. A good wine, but not really exclusive. Ready now and the next few years.
Red
2005 Bodegas Luis Cañas Rioja Reserva Spain, La Rioja, Rioja
87 points
Deep bouquet with good oak, sweet spices and ripe red fruits. A mouth filling wine with red fruits, a lot of sweetness and a lot of acidity. Chocolate. The tannin is still a bit sticky. Wait until 2015. 87+

Flight 6 (2 notes)

Red
2011 Cantina di Monteforte Bardolino Re Teodorico Italy, Veneto, Bardolino
78 points
I almost have no words for it. Extremely light colored. Hardly any bouquet. Strawberry lemonade on the palate. Very soft acidity and no tannin at all. Nothing really wrong with it, but certainly not my taste.
Red
2003 Santi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Carmine/orange brown color. On the palate a lot of chocolate, concentration and a firm amount of sweetness. Completely soft and imho a bit too old already. No score.
