Introduction

This was a very good lineup of German rieslings from dry to sweet served in pairs as comparison wines. The earlier dry rieslings weren't quite as strong as the later sweeter rieslings which had much more complexity. The Beerenauslese wines were a treat!

Flight 1 - Trocken (2 notes)

Yellow-golden; a bit more funky/earthy, minerally, some fruit as well; palate is slightly sweet, medium acid, nice fruit flavors; medium-plus finish. Very nice complexity and depth compared to the 2009 Emrich Schonleber, slightly less acid than the comparison wine but overall well integrated together. 92

From a 375, this was the gold capsule auslese **. Deep Yellow-golden; lovely aromatic nose with peach, apricot, honey; palate has medium sweetness, medium-plus fresh acidity, orange citrus, tingly bright acidity, plenty of fruit with excellent intensity; long finish. Very nice. 92-93
