Introduction

SInce a long time I was visiting this Fair for the masses again.

The winetrading house Rindchen´s Weinkontor is organizing this fair for the wines of their wine portfolio.
This years fair is fixed for the weekend of 28./29. October.
The entrance fee is about 13€ per day and for this you can taste the wines of about 170 wineestates.

There are some remarkable wines from Germany and Champagne!

I recommend to join this spectacle during the first two hours of opening. Later on this is crowded like the terraces of a sold out football stadium!

Flight 1 - Riesling, what else? (15 notes)

White
2016 Joachim Flick Gundersheimer Hollenbrand Riesling Trocken Germany, Rheinhessen
One glass, brief note: zesty, a little exhausting, savoury fruit, lacking length, *
White
2015 Weingut Clemens Busch Nonnengarten Riesling Trocken Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Two glasses from different bottles, but same impression: a selection for this wine trading house, showing all you expect from one of the best producers for dry Rieslings from the Mosel, the opulent year shines through, tasty stonefruit, moderate bodied, low ABV (12%), finesse, balance, powerful, in one word: delicious! For its price tag highly recommended! 16€ per bottle, enjoy from now on and over the approximately next 5+ years, **(*-****)
White
2016 Weingut Stefan Müller Scharzberg Riesling Trocken Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
One glass, brief note: oh boy, this is not from the Scharzhofberg, fresh, lightbodied, meager, exhausting, *
White - Off-dry
2016 Weingut Stefan Müller Niedermemminger Sonnenberg Riesling tandem reserve feinherb Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
One glass, brief note: fresh, biting acid, lemon driven, moderate bodied, tasty, good weight and length, **
White - Off-dry

White
2016 Weingut Jakob Schneider Riesling Schiefer trocken Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: bonedry, mineralic driven, zesty fruit, ending quite long and refreshing, recommended, **+ -?
White
2016 Weingut Jakob Schneider Riesling Niederhäuser Steinberg Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: a selection from a single vineyard for this tradingcompany, what it this one all about? Stony as stony can be! A classic, stunning bonedry mineralic driven Riesling! Highly recommended! 8,80€ per bottle, *(**) -?
White
2016 Kruger-Rumpf Phyllitschiefer Riesling Trocken Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: good fresh appearance, way too young at this moment, classic mineralic driven Riesling, recommended! *(*+ -?)
White
2016 Kruger-Rumpf Dorsheimer Riesling Trocken Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: fine very elegant Riesling, dense stonefruit, more balanced than the Schiefer, moderate weight, finishes quite long, **
White
2016 Kruger-Rumpf Riesling Nord trocken Nahe Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: zesty , very delicious red grapefruit, way too young, refreshing, quite long, recommended, 12€ per bottle, *(*-***)
White
2016 Kruger-Rumpf Im Pitterberg Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: a classic GG from the Nahe, everything is going its right mineralic stonefruit way, but over all today this one is not flashing me! *(**-?)
White
2016 Weingut S.J.Montigny Kreuznacher Narrenkappe Riesling Trocken Germany, Nahe
One glass, brief note: entry level Riesling from the stony Nahe site, refreshing tasty minerality, dense body with lush stonefruit, maybe a little tart, ending quite long, recommended, *(*+), a bargain, 6,66€ per bottle!
White
2015 Klosterhof Schwedhelm Riesling Zellertal Germany, Pfalz
One glass, brief note: never heard of this producer before, just from the far north of the Pfalz zone, but this one is all you want from a Riesling, delicious fruit, mineralic hints, good weight and balance, I know the vintage helps this time, mouthfilling aftertaste, recommended, ONLY 7,40€ per bottle, **-(***)
White
2016 Klosterhof Schwedhelm Riesling Zellertal Germany, Pfalz
One glass, brief note: more classic Riesling than the 2015 vintage, savoury mouthwatering stonefruit, way too young, but if you like this Riesling style like I do: ENJOY! A bargain, only 7,40€ per bottle, recommended! *(*-***)
White
2016 Weingut Meier Riesling vom hellen Buntsandstein trocken Germany, Pfalz
One glass, brief note: very tasty appearance, dense white fruit, some apples, good weight and balanced that young, ending long with some supporting acidity, recommended, a bargain again, 6,75€ per bottle, *(*-***)

One glass, brief note: really refreshing, mineralic, some bread crust, dense with a good weight, quite harmonic, long, **(*+)
White - Sparkling
N.V. Mailly Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Pinot Noir France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
One glass, brief note: recently disgorged, creamy appearance, this one is very mineralic driven, the chalky soil really comes through, delicious, **(*)
Rosé - Sparkling
2012 Deutz Champagne Brut Rosé Millésimé France, Champagne
One glass, brief note: disgorged end of 2016, very freh showing today, some hints of rapberry, savoury fruit all the way, delicious but I would give this one some more time in the bottle, *(**- +?)
White - Sparkling
2009 Deutz Champagne Blanc de Blancs France, Champagne
One glass, brief note: very creamy on the midpalate, mouthfilling, a lot of brioche, great sample, but maybe the price tag is a little arrogant, 67,50 per bottle, **(*+ -?)

Flight 3 - La Espana majestuosa (10 notes)

White
2016 Cuatro Rayas Verdejo Rueda Spain, Castilla y León, Rueda
One glass, brief note: light and fresh, tasty, quite herbal finish, **

2011 Bodegas y Viñedos Heras Cordon Rioja Reserva Marques del Hueco Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja

Red
2016 Prado Rey Ribera del Duero Roble Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero

One glass, brief note: some tasty cherry, strong tannin, drying finish, a modern crowd pleaser, not made for me!
Red
2014 Prado Rey Ribera del Duero Adaro de Prado Rey Crianza Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero
One glass, brief note: very dense body, way too much alcohol (14,5% ABV) smoooooth, for the masses, a lot of sliky vanilla, long but not made for me!
Red
2011 Prado Rey Ribera del Duero Elite Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero
One glass, brief note: vino de pago, for me too concentrated, no terroir visible, too sweet, just like drinking brambleberry jam, horrible again!
