Wrenkhs Kochsalon, Hamburg, Germany
Tasted March 8, 2018 by fc1910 with 212 views
Introduction
Our best Hamburg Burgundy Trader, Nobbi Müller, has invited to a Beaujolais-presentation of the three estates:
Chateau Thivin
Mee Godard and
Raphael Chopin.
Wrenks Kochsalon is serving the tasty fingerfood.
THis was an very interesting introduction into the still a little unknown Beaujolais zone.
Flight 1 (13 notes)

Red
2016 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly Les Sept Vignes
A stunning Cru, really dark black fruit, savoury and tight, sour cherry, enormous acidic bite, young, needs some time in the bottle, very good QPR, 15e per bottle, *(*--***-?), 88- 89+ potential
Red
2016 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly Cuvée La Chapelle
More density as the "7 Vignes", well tight structured, energetic midpalate, black fresh cherry, some cassis, really long refreshing, young, *(**+?), around 90- 91+ potential
Red
2016 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly Cuvée Zaccharie
92 points
Top of the heap from this estate! Really impressive, enormous savoury fruit, still adstringent, all the things to come only indicated, enormous tension, graphit, spicy sophisticated aftertaste, terrific bottle, highly recommended, give this wine at least 5+ years in the cellar, *(***-?), 91- 93+ potential

Red
2016 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette
Lots of freshness from the very present acid, a little taut or call it meager, maybe because it is that young, needs some time, *(*-?), around 85+ potential
Red
2016 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Grands Cras
More substance on the palate, again great freshness, tight and with a savoury black fruit, give this wine some time in the bottle, *(*+ -?), 87+ potential
Red
2016 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Côte du Py
Very well structured with good density, mineralic hints, rich black fruit, ending refreshing long+, *(**-?), 89- 90+ potential
Red
2016 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Passerelle 577
A wow bottle, enormous young demanding acid, therefore a very young appearance, fullbodied with ripe still a little grainy tannin, powerful on the midpalate, ending very persistent, *(**-****), 91+ potential
Red
2015 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Corcelette
One example for the more rich in fruit 2015 vintage, well balanced with ripe black and cherry fruit, supporting acid, long, good+, **(+)
Red
2015 Domaine Raphaël Chopin Morgon Les Charmes
Good harmony, mild on the palate, too smooth for me, cause lacking the tension of the good+ Bojos, *-**
Red
2015 Domaine Raphaël Chopin Régnié Caprice
good weight and density, red berry driven, chalky mineralic, nearly balanced, ending precise long, **-(***), 87+ potential
Red
2016 Domaine Raphaël Chopin Morgon Archambault
Ripe and lively tannin, little adstringent still, red fruit all the way, some vanilla from the barrels, very good density and lenght, recommended, **-(***+), 88- 89+ potential
Red
2015 Domaine Raphaël Chopin Régnié Gaia
For me the top cuvee from this estate, floral, delicious red savoury fruit, delicate, full of finesse, refined long+, **(*+), 90+ potential
