Flight 1 (10 notes)

White - Sparkling
N.V. Jacques Selosse Champagne Grand Cru Lieux-dits Extra Brut Ay La Côte Faron France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Degorgement February 2015, base year 2008. Again a lovely champagne from Selosse. Very expressive nose, some mint, Pinot fruit. Taste savory fruitiness, rich, flowers, oxidative tones, some smokiness, minerals.
Rosé - Sparkling
2009 Jérôme Prévost La Closerie Fac-Simile France, Champagne
Nose of red fruit, rye bread, some dustiness. Taste complex and evolving in the glass, red fruit, cream, minerals, some sweetness, some eucalyptus in the back. Lovely champagne to sip from the glass in the course of time to watch it develop.
White
2014 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Slightly restricted nose, fresh, mint, citrus. Full bodied wine, acidic and mineral backbone, impressive material. Still young, but already good mouthfeel and length.

White
2007 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Big citric nose, some saltiness. Lovely Chablis like saline mineral acidic taste, complex and lots of body and length. More open than the bottle I had 4 years ago, I guess this will open further in time.
Red
2009 Domaine Rossignol Trapet Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru
Elegant, mature typical Chambertin nose, red fruit, spices, some sous-bois, balsamic. Taste red fruit, fresh, balanced acidity, good length. Lovely Chambertin, open for business.
Red
2009 Cecile Tremblay Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Was served alongside a 2009 Chambertin from Rossignol Trapet. Stood up marvelously against this wine. Nose and taste dark fruit, lots of concentration, round tannins, long finish. This has a lot of structure, will develop further in bottle the next 5-10 years.
Red
2007 Domaine Fourrier Griotte-Chambertin Vieille Vigne France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Although this is 2007 Burgundy, I was afraid that it might still be too young. It was however excellent, very elegant and perfumed expressive nose, lots of concentration, sweet red fruit, lovely acidity, complex Gevrey tones, minerals, long finish. It was interesting to notice the similarities between this wine and the 2014 Duroche Griotte served next to it.
Red
2014 Domaine Duroché Griotte-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
This is such a rare bottle, what a treat to be able to taste this. This already drinks so well in its young. Spicy red fruit nose, silky red fruit taste, complex, mineral. Lots of concentration. Very special wine.

Red
2016 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Still young but showing very good promise. Red fruit nose, structured red fruit taste, spice, round tannins.
Red
2007 Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Luckely I already tasted this at the beginning of the dinner directly after the opening of this bottle to give it some air, because when I retasted this during dinner I had already become a bit too intoxicated. Typical Amarone, fullbodied, lots of things to smell and taste, plum, raisins, honey. Although the alcohol percentage is high the wine is so balanced that it is easy to drink.
