Tasted November 14, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Tight nose giving way to some notes of saddle soap, black berries, leather and maybe some white pepper notes towards the end. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and some bitters on the finish. Tasted November 14, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of potpourri, mixed dark fruits and some florals happening here. Flavors of chewy currants, juicy berries, plums and some light and pleasing licorice notes on the medium to long finish. Fresh acidity, medium to firm tannins, full bodied. Drink now with a short decant or continue to hold. One of the better 1998 wines I've tasted and a nice little surprise.

Tasted November 14, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. When first opened this wine had an almost bizarre aroma of microwave buttered popcorn that quickly blew of to reveal a pleasant aroma of sandlewood followed by potpourri and mixed fruits. Flavors of black cherries, black berries, black licorice and white pepper. Medium acidity, typical firm to almost stalky tannins and full body. Drink now with an hour or so in the decanter or hold.

Tasted November 14, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Yellow to dark yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of apricots, honeysuckle, lychee and orange. Flavors of orange cream dominate right up front followed by flavors of dried apricots, some honey and light citrus notes. Also picked up some almond notes on the long finish. Medium to vibrant acidity, medium to full body. Unctuous on the palate without being cloying. Well done. Drink or hold. My WOTN.
