Flight 1 (10 notes)

White
2017 Trimbach Muscat France, Alsace
Typically floral but not too exotic. Light, dry cut apple fruit with soil at the end.
White
2018 Trimbach Riesling France, Alsace
Medium yellow. Low pitched tea scents. Medium weight, dry, average acidity and a touch of soil. Fine basic Riesling.

White
2017 Trimbach Riesling Reserve France, Alsace
Medium yellow. Classic orange peel aromas. Medium weight, much more intense lemony acidity and minerality than the regular 2018 Riesling. Some herbal elements. A big step up for the minimal price difference. Needs a few years to show best.
White
2016 Trimbach Riesling Sélection Vieilles Vignes France, Alsace
Tulip color. A bit of petrol. Some residual sugar but good soil base and back end minerality. Rounder and not as sharp or focused as the 2017 Reserve. Not particularly the usual Trimbach style but good.
White
2011 Trimbach Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile France, Alsace
Full yellow. Stone fruit and black tea. Medium weight, excellent glycerine feel. Off dry orange fruit, very good acidity, excellent length and soil. Rather rich, relatively open version of Fredéric Émile compared to more classic vintages. I'd still buy it but not hold for the usual 10+ years.

White
2014 Trimbach Riesling Clos Ste. Hune France, Alsace
Yellow. Prominent petrol at this early stage. Finely delineated, delicate yet explosive citrus. Completely dry. Gorgeous, subtle, long soil-filled finish. I loved this wine for its breed and energy. Not the biggest or most dense Clos Ste. Hune, but my, does it deliver flavor and intensity for its relatively light weight.
White
2015 Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve Personnelle France, Alsace
Deep yellow. Honey and crème brulée on the nose. Unctuous compared to the Rieslings, moderate sweetness, Golden Delicious sappy fruit, and an excellent acid core. Rich for the house, but enough balance and restraint to be very enjoyable.
White
2012 Trimbach Gewurztraminer Cuvée des Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre France, Alsace
Full yellow. Honey and lychee, not very floral. Fairly sweet entry, good acidity and balance mid-palate, then that bitter finish that I dislike in many Gewurztraminers. Hardly the best vintage I've had of this. Maybe the bitterness will ameliorate over time. Maybe.

White - Off-dry
2011 Trimbach Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives France, Alsace
Light golden. Airy, high toned aromas. Medium weight, honeyed palate, not too sweet. Beautifully balanced and long. So much more integrated and harmonious than the 2012 Seigneurs. Very impressive wine, delicious.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2001 Trimbach Gewurztraminer Sélection de Grains Nobles France, Alsace
Golden. Less overt varietal character on the nose. Fantastic mix of marmalade, honey, and spice with superb length, feel, and balance. A knockout dessert wine with a decade in front of it.
