Introduction

Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought yourself was poured.

Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2005 Masi Campofiorin Italy, Veneto, Veronese IGT
87 points
Ripe red berries and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate juicy and ripe cherries, not that much sweetness and mild acidity and tannin.
Red
2005 Masi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Costasera Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
89 points
The bouquet is a bit rustic. On the palate a sweet start with some cherries and ripe blackberries, chocolate and some hints of coffee. Soft acidity and tannin in this full bodied wine. Completely ready now.
Red
2004 Marion Valpolicella Superiore Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Valpolicella Superiore
Coffee and celery in the very mature and oxidized bouquet. On the palate the same impressions, tea, chocolate, sweet soy. The wine is still drinkable and juicy, but too old now. No score.
