Flight 1 (1 note)

Red
2016 Domaine Divio Pinot Noir Willamette Pinot Noir Barrel Auction USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton
93 points
First bottle from the batch bought at auction. Per the vintner, selected fruit from his better sources in Yamhill-Carlton. PnP, drank over an hour.

Bright ruby color. Nose showing black raspberry, cherry cola, herbs, baking spice. Bright and expressive palate of red and blue fruits, spice cake, floral pastille. Energetic and bright at this stage. Medium weight and finish...splash in the glass tasted an hour later had evolved considerably (caramel, floral and earth notes...)

Really great showing on this evening. Really liked this when poured at the auction, its turned out to be as good as hoped. Very early in its evolution...a great Oregon vintage and great vintner...nothing not to like here. Score goes higher in time 93+?

Flight 2 (2 notes)

Red
2000 Château Pavie Decesse France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
95 points
Decanted for about an hour prior to drinking. Drank this before/next to a 2006 Chateau Certan. A couple years since drinking this vintage, good opportunity to open this for some good friends

Color still showing a dark purple color, no real signs of age. Nose was dark berries, earth, pine, graphite and violets. Palate showing blackberry, black cherry, mineral notes. Great texture, full body (by Bdx standards) and layered finish.

Wine is in a great spot at this point, should continue to drink well for some years to come. If you have more than one, worth drinking some now. The 2000 vintage is coming into is own at yr 20 (at least the bottles in my cellar...), drinking well and has a long arc ahead of it

Red
2006 Château Certan de May France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
89 points
This one contributed by Victor, decanted for about an hour prior to drinking. Drank next to 2000 Pavie Decesse.

Medium garnet/ruby color. Nose of dusted cherry, and cocoa. Smooth plate, rich plums, old cherry, coffee and some smoke notes. Slight medicinal notes through mid plate (in a good way). Tannins have softened, texture is consistent with nicely aged Pomerol...Medium weight and finish

In a good spot now, best guess is it will drink at this level for a while but I don't think it improves much from here. Would drink over the next 5 years
