Flight 1 (6 notes)

White - Sparkling
N.V. Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Champagne France, Champagne
Served a little too warm this time. Slightly overshadowed by the depth of the Ployez-Jacquemart 2008 BdB which came after it.
White - Sparkling
2008 Ployez-Jacquemart Champagne Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Vintage France, Champagne
92 points
Richer and more vinous than the Rothschild Brut that preceded it.
Rosé
2020 Pasqua 11 Minutes Odi et Amo Rosé Italy, Trevenezie
Very pale pink, glass stopper. Slightly more viscous texture than many, but not sweet. Still clean & fresh.
Red
2006 Chêne Bleu Heloise France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vaucluse
Served ever-so-slightly chilled. Lovely blueberry, balance, poise. With feta&lamb burgers, rack of lamb, and rib of beef. A pleasure.
Red
2012 Chêne Bleu Abelard France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vaucluse
Bigger, bolder, and younger than the 2006 Eloise which preceded it. Still enjoyable but not as striking. Stylistically I prefer the Eloise.
Red
2015 Gianni Brunelli Rosso di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino
Consistent with my previous TN, this remains generous and enjoyable, enough structure to stand up to various bbq'd meats but lithe and juicy enough to drink on its own.
