White - Sparkling
2016 Chartogne-Taillet Champagne Blanc de Blancs Heurtebise France, Champagne
93 points
Nose: The nose is deep and aromatic, filling the glass with Crushed rocks, red apples, nougat, spiced pears, brioche, biscuits, roasted nuts, white flowers, and warm dough.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, high acidity. There is excellent balance with red apples, spiced pears, white flowers, quince, crushed rocks, nougat, roasted nuts, ans brioche.

Overall: This is is excellent right now, but did greatly benefit from air. This could use a few more years to hit the next gear. This shows off a more oxidative style while still having freshness.
White - Sparkling
2016 Georges Laval Champagne Premier Cru Brut Nature Les Chênes France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
94 points
Nose: The nose is pristine and deep with loads of Saline, pears, apples, Meyer lemons, warm dough, flint, acacia flowers, and fresh baked biscuits. This is a nose to get lost in as it shows off excellent layering and poise already.

Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with sharp, high acidity. There is a real beauty to the feel with Meyer lemons, pears, apples, saline, acacia flowers, warm dough, and fresh baked biscuits.

Overall: This is a flat out gorgeous champagne. It could use a few more years to round into form but it is tremendous already. This isn’t a Laval that pushes extremes and instead it is one that aims to be pristine and expressive.

White
2019 Thibaud Boudignon Savennières Clos de Frémine France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Savennières
93 points
Nose: Oh my word. Immediately this is a nose that makes you take notice. There is so much minerality as it permeates throughout the glass with crushed rocks and saline along with pears, apples, white flowers, a touch of dried linen, lanolin, white peaches, and some jasmine. There is an immense amount of depth with loads of poise and balance.

Feel: The feel is Medium/full bodied with sharp and racy, high acidity. The poise and balance from the nose easily carries through on the palate with white peaches, pears, crushed rocks, saline, dried linen, apples, lanolin, and jasmine.

Overall: This definitely benefitted from being decanted and drunk at a slightly warmer temperature. It could certainly benefit from a few more years of aging to allow it to smooth out some slightly rough edges. Still, this is some killer Chenin that scratches all of the itches.
