Introduction

Invited to taste with the Big Hitters tonight-lucky me.

Flight 1 - 4 High End Cabernet Sauvignons (5 notes)

Lovely wine-at peak-time to enjoy is now.

Red
1997 Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon USA, California, Napa Valley
97 points
Nose of black cherry, black berry, cranberry, and forest floor, same on the palate, big body, concentrated, mouth filling fruit, rich, slightly overripe fruit and slightly over the top, at peak, long, long, lingering finish and lovely aftertaste, photo uploaded, My #1 of 5 tonight.
Red
1995 Opus One USA, California, Napa Valley
95 points
Nose of black berry, red cherry, hints of plum, cigar box, and minerals, same on the palate, opened nicely and quickly, big body, very tasty, Bordeaux like but too bright and fruity, elegant, lovely, almost mouth filling fruit, really savory to taste and ponder, I guessed 25 years old, long, lingering finish, photo uploaded, best on palate and finish, my #2 of 5 tonight.
Red
1997 Dunn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain USA, California, Napa Valley, Howell Mountain
94 points
Nose of black berry, black cherry, cranberry, hints of saddle leather, cigar box, baker's chocolate, and briar, same on the palate, big body, at peak, elegant, slightly subtle and muted on the after palate, long finish, photo uploaded, my #3 of 5 tonight, like many 1997 probably even better 6 years ago.
Red
2001 BOND Melbury USA, California, Napa Valley
91 points
Nose of black berry, red cherry, cranberry, and sage, same on the palate, subdued fruit, medium/big body, tasty, fairly rich but unexciting for me versus its peers tonight, medium/long finish, photo uploaded, My #4 of 5 tonight.
White
2018 00 Wines Chardonnay VGW USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
90 points
Nose of lemon, apple, wet slate, and hints of buttered bagel, same on the palate, tasty, medium body, lovely touch, underwhelming for me when compared to Aubert of Kistler, medium/long finish, uploaded photos, my #5 of 5 tonight,
