Glass: Zalto Bordeaux
Decanted a few hours before the tasting.
Clear pale golden color. Clean nose, fresh, apple peel, meagre, mineral.
On the palate rather lean, some interesting bitte notes, tannin, good acidity, nice tension, medium length. Good potential for another 5+ years. 87-88

Clear pale golden color. Clean nose, very floral and herbaceous, fresh and youthful. Nice.
Dry, ripe, animating acidity. Herbaceous and floral, almost airy, warm stone fruit, wonderful mineral core. Good tension. Long and lingering finish. Needs a few years to fully shine and has certainly a potential for another decade. 90-91+

Flight 3 (1 note)

White
2016 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Riesling R late release Germany, Pfalz

Clear pale golden color. A bit like Chardonnay from Boisson-Vadot 2016. Tart acidity, a bit unbalanced, sweet/sour taste. Medium length. Probably needs more time to blend in? Not my wine. 86

Flight 4 (1 note)

White
2019 Seckinger Riesling 1 tal Germany, Pfalz
92 points
Glass: Zalto Bordeaux
Tasting sip from a bottle that was opened a few days before.
Fascinating nose, very ethereal, medicinal in the best sense, complex. On the palate very dense, lots of tannin and grip. Very deep and complex, good tension. Long! Freaky and exciting, certainly not for everyone. 91-92+

91 points
Glass: Zalto Bordeaux

Clear pale golden color. Clear nose, with very interesting smoky notes, some mellow apple, herbs and chalky mineral notes. Dense and beautiful.
On the palate very round, a bit smoky, good acidity and balance. Good depth and density. Long finish. Potential for at least 5+ years. 91-92

Flight 6 (1 note)

White
2013 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Forster Pechstein Riesling Germany, Pfalz
91 points
Glass: Zalto Bordeaux
Decanted a few hours before the tasting.
Clear pale golden color. Clear, very expressive and dense nose. On the palate you can feel the huge potential, but the individual components are not yet fully integrated. It still has some “sweet/sour” taste. Nevertheless, enormous density and depth, great tension and a wonderful mineral core. Too young, give its 5+ year before you start drinking it and enjoy it over the next 2 decades. 91+++

Flight 7 (1 note)

White
2012 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Forster Jesuitengarten Riesling Germany, Pfalz
91 points
Glass: Zalto Bordeaux
Decanted a few hours before the tasting.
Clear pale golden color. Clear, youthful and rather muted nose. On the palate round, lots of speck, some floral notes, apple must, some fine bitter notes, wonderful mineral core. Dense and deep, beautiful length. Drinks nicely now, but has potential for another decade. 91-92+

Flight 8 (1 note)

Clear medium golden color. Clear, developing and pronounced nose. Ripe pineapple, ripe Amalfi citrus, smoky, wet stones and dense. Wow!
On the palate enormous pressure and density! Great tension! Fantastic structure and energy. Still painfully young with ripe Amalfi lemon. Long finish! Waaay better than my last bottle. This is an amazing bottle and has at least 2 decades of further development ahead. 94-95++

Hazy deep yellow color (no egg white fining before filling). Clear, fresh and astonishingly youthful nose with a lot of ripe Amalfi citrus.
On the palate very lean and precise, extremely youthful and fresh! Fresh, ripe citrus and lime, lime peel, herbs, all mixed with a wonderful mineral core. Some speck and fine bitter notes. Very long and dense. Potential for another decade. 94+

On the palate enormous power, grip, density and depth! Juicy, animating acidity. Ripe lemon, yellow stone fruit and herbs. All components beautifully balanced. Wonderful saltiness and very long. Still young, needs 5+ years to fully shine, but already a wonderful wine. 94-95+

Clear, medium golden color. Unfortunately, slightly corked! Nevertheless, you can feel the enormous energy and depth in this wine. Very precise, very deep and dense. Long and vibrating finish! Even though this was a tainted bottle, it made a lot of fun to drink. 93

Red
2016 Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet Clos Vougeot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
93 points
Glass: Zalto Bordeaux
Popped and poured. Beautiful glowing, medium ruby color. Clean, intense nose with a lot of fine red fruit, some herbs and wonderfully balanced.
On the palate beautiful lively acidity, 13,5% abv, high, fine and velvet tannin. Lots of ripe red fruit, oak beautifully integrated as a solid backbone and giving the wine a wonderful texture. Very pure and mineral. It is all about balance and elegance. Long finish. For me, not yet close to its peak, but already quite delicious. Great potential. 92-93+
