Flight 1 (4 notes)

White
2009 Verget Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
92 points
Medium yellow, gold hue, fairly viscous, and day bright. Nose rather subtle, while stronger flavoured on the palate, with dried candied apricot and pineapple, as well as butter cream, cinnamon, white pepper, honey, mild cheese, and a slight mineral rocky feel. Weighty, yet strongly acidic, and also a bit of alcohol heat. Very long finish and complex
White
2009 Verget Corton-Charlemagne Vieilles Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
93 points
Medium yellow, gold hue, fairly viscous, and day bright. Acidic, whilst the body seems to have a fresh lift, with fresh salad vegetables, mint, ripe candied lemon tart which led the nose, lemon zest, pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, and a cool spring water freshness. Lengthy and complex. Great!
White
2004 Bouchard Père et Fils Chevalier-Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
90 points
Deep gold, viscous, and daybright. Rich, cheese-led aromas. Fairly high acids, medium weight, yet intense aromas and flavours, very nutty, overripe pineapples and apricots, honey, fungals, slight meatiness, and some marked alcohol burn. Finish medium and showing much more fungals, giving a feel that this wine might be sliding past it’s best
White
2007 Domaine Amiot Guy et Fils Le Montrachet France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Montrachet Grand Cru
91 points
Deep yellow with gold hue, fairly viscous and daybright. Leading hazelnut and oak spiced aromas and flavours, marzipan cream, cedar, cinnamon, and comparatively less fruit tones, though they are indeed ripe, that of mandarin and apricot. Fairly high acids, yet full bodied. Long finish but seems to be spice and alcohol driven
