Nearly colourless pale lemon. Chamomile and ripe white peaches on nose and palate, as well as dried grass, whilst having some residual sugar, and totally simplistic, as if some spritzer. I won’t exactly call this bad, but it’s not something I’ll spend time on. Just chug it to get happy, and yes don’t age it, chug it now!

Pale gold, with fine beads, and starbright. Bright acids whilst with texture of soft mousse, lemon zest, and freshly baked brioche, with hint of almond. Very lengthy at the back. A really well-made example, which when tasted blind, got us thinking it’s Champagne from a good house

2018 Agustí Torelló Mata Trepat Cava Rosat Brut Reserva Spain, Cava

Medium, bright pink, and fine beads. Medium-high acids, whilst rather fleshy with white flowers and fairly ripe strawberry and peach, and some bready, yeasty, almond nutty nuances. Simple, but quite pleasurable
