Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Laurent-Perrier Champagne Cuvée Rosé Brut France, Champagne
92 points
Brought by BC. Mid depth of colour - salmon/strawberry pink with a copper tinge. The nose is dominated by red fruits - strawberries, raspberries and cherries. Bright and fresh. Palate: mid weight. Nice acidity for a PN based champagne. Good creamy mouthfeel. Well proportioned and a refined mousse. A reliable, quality and good value rosé champagne.

Decanted two hours prior. Deep- colour intensity. Ruby/mahogany core, not showing much development. Complex and intense but refine nose. Blackberry and plum, some red fruits too, tobacco, leather, sage, anise and spices. As we worked our way through the bottle stronger notes of lavender and violets emerged. I found the nose improved considerably by the end of the bottle. Palate: full to medium body - not too big. Smooth tannins, well integrated. Great texture and structure. Smooth, persistent finish. Will drink well for 10+ years.

Brought by BC. Classic nose for a cabernet blend - blackcurrant, black cherries, cedar, also some herbs, chocolate and floral notes. Palate: medium bodied. Clean fruit. Fine ripe tannins. Everything in good proportion on the palate. Refined power, good finish. We didn't decant this long before tasting, it might have shown better with more time to breathe.
