Flight 1 (3 notes)

White
2019 Morgen Long Chardonnay USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Flint and not much fruit on the nose on first pour. Though when revisiting it in the glass some 20min later: pear, almond cream, buttered popcorn. On the palate it's medium rich, solid weight and medium acid. Probably the richest, and 'roundest' one of the three tasted.

White
2019 Morgen Long Chardonnay Eola-Amity Hills USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills
Reduction and flint smoke and a bit of lees richness. Graham cracker, lemon curd. Decent tension and the palate. Not as much as the Marine, but more than the WV. Not quite the midpalate weight as the Marine, and not as rich as the WV

2019 Morgen Long Chardonnay Marine USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Citrus zest and chalk on the nose with an underlying rich base note and delicate floral notes interlaced. Lime zest, crushed chalk, geranium, lily of the valley. On the palate, medium bodied, tensile and high acid. Linear attack, then broadens at the mid-palate with chalky soil tones. Does fade a bit on the finish, but over time seemed to fill out some. Quite enjoyable and my favourite of the three Morgen Long chardonnays opened.
