White - Sparkling
N.V. Billecart-Salmon Champagne Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
90 points
Very creamy texture but still lean and elegant. Nice focus to it but lacked a little depth, a little on the sweet side. Very much on the sweet side, creamy, lean elegant. Nice focus to it but lacked a little depth.
White - Sparkling
2013 Bauchet Père et Fils Champagne Brut Cuvee Saint-NIcaise France, Champagne
87 points
Quite a boring champagne without much going on. The high dosage felt a little high, seemed to be there to cover the poor quality of fruit.
White - Sparkling
2007 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut France, Champagne
93 points
Second time having this in the past couple of months, always a treat to have Comtes. Took time for the reductive, toasty notes to dissipate. Had a little greenness to it that I didn't notice the last time around but that also disappeared with time in the glass. Fleshed out nicely with air and drinking better than the 2008 today.

2008 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut France, Champagne

Brought by a generous friend. Creamier and rounder, together with more exotic fruit compared to the 2007 alongside. Must admit after reading all the great reviews this didn't seem to be showing as well as I thought it would be. Guessed it was from a lower-acid vintage like 2006.

White - Sparkling
2014 A. Margaine Champagne Blanc de Blancs Special Club France, Champagne
91 points
My contribution. Almond note on the nose, marginally ripe fruit of mainly green apples that made it evident that this was from a cooler vintage. Lean and precise, felt a little too young at the moment.
White - Sparkling
N.V. Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Tradition Brut France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
91 points
Brought this for a friend. Similar impressions to before, clearly a Pinot-dominant blend with fresh strawberry fruit. Heftiest of the line-up.
White - Sparkling
2013 Agrapart Champagne Grand Cru Avizoise Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
92 points
Curiously presented itself as a Pinot-heavy blend at first but with air it became more linear and the ripe green apple and citrus fruit began to express itself. Still felt quite taut and all potential at the moment, Agrapart champagnes really need time.

Red
2019 Jolie-Laide Grenache Syrah Mourvèdre Viognier Shake Ridge USA, California, Sierra Foothills, Amador County
88 points
Pale ruby colour, lightly extracted without much structure. Very Bojo-like on both nose and palate with a slightly jammy feel. Fun wine to drink with food but think I prefer their whites.

White
2012 Talley Vineyards Chardonnay Oliver's Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Edna Valley
89 points
Quite a bit of reductiveness on the nose that gave way to creamy oak. Full on American Chard with ripe, round and caramelised fruit. Got this for S$35 which is excellent value for casual drinking.
Red
2005 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Cent-Vignes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
93 points
Brought this as an extra red. Showed beautifully after a couple of hours in the bottle. Intoxicating nose of fresh cherries, kirsch that only a Burg could have. Elegant and pure red fruit on the palate that led some people to think Vosne. Excellent showing.
Red
2005 Château Pomeaux France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
flawed
Not the best bottle, think it might have seen some heat damage. Plummy character without any structure or tannins left.
