Flight 1 (4 notes)

White
2017 Domaine Henri Darnat Meursault Clos du Domaine France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
92 points
Very pale straw, and daybright. Nose fairly restrained, showing more of cool wet rocks, and then the vanilla spices, then a bit of ripe peach and candied lemons. Very soft and silky on the palate, with smooth acids, and even somewhat creamy, then some cinnamon and vanilla, and medium ripe peach, wet stones, and hints of walnuts. Medium length
White
2017 Pierre Morey Meursault Les Terres Blanches France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
91 points
Pale lemon, with slight green hue and daybright, and fairly viscous. Nose dominated by vanilla and nutmeg, as well as some ripe apricot and pineapple. Bright acids providing a lift, whist otherwise having tons of vanilla and cinnamon, loads of wet rocks and briny minerality, and ripe peaches. Quite edgy, lengthy, and seemingly a very generous use of French oak
White
2017 Domaine Pierre Labet Meursault Les Tillets France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
91 points
Very pale straw, with silvery hue, and starbright. Intense cloves and cinnamon aromas, and some heavy cream, and underripe lemon and apricot. A rather stony attack on the palate with bright acids, medium ripe peach and apricot flavours, as well as nutmeg and cinnamon, and a hint of flowers. A fairly long floral finish
White
2017 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Meursault 1er Cru Santenots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
91 points
Very pale lemon, with a silvery hue. A pretty intense nose with overripe peach, dried apricot, cinnamon, and vanilla aromas. Quite a bit of weight on the palate, and fairly high flavour intensity of dried apricot, hawthorne, cinnamon, wet rocks and brine. Flavours are very persistent, leading to a lengthy finish. Great but would have preferred it having a touch of freshness
