Flight 1 (11 notes)
White
2015 Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes Blanc
88 points
Bright and rich enough with overall good balance today showcasing both lemon and apple notes. Good now, probably little further upside.
White
2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes
flawed
Drinkable and still tasty, but much more advanced vs where this should be.
White
2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champs Canet
92 points
Vintage ripeness jumps out with rich and powerful orchard fruit, but plenty of structure just off the main stage. Long, layered finish. Upside from here, but the tired '15 Ruchottes in the next glass makes me pause.
Red
2015 Bonneau du Martray Corton
93 points
Powerful array of ripe orchard fruit with no shortage of structure, all in the right place. Long, lingering, powerful finish.
Red
2017 Domaine François Buffet Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes
90 points
Red cherry, nicely spiced and floral. Perfect Volnay character with wonderful balance and good (enough) weight. A wonderful expression of the vintage, too.

2007 Domaine Dominique Mugneret Romanée St. Vivant
91 points
Glorious Vosne perfume to start. Red cherry flavors are slightly less complex, slightly more mature, slightly less exciting vs nose. Still certainly very good now.
Red
2002 Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays
92 points
Another fine bottle of this wine, showing a fine combination of fresh and maturing red fruits with spice and earth. Lots here, maybe not quite as the same level of Grand Cru density that the terroir could express.
Red
2002 Domaine Bertagna Clos St. Denis
93 points
Red cherry and berry start-to-finish with wonderful combination of spice, earth, and meat. Clearly enough structure in the near background supports this perfectly, and will keep in vibrant for the next decade+. Exceeded my expectations.

Red
2010 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Clos St. Denis
I enjoyed this lots more a few years back. It's not that this has advanced, but rather tonight's bottle came across as awkward and lacking the same finesse or charm as before.
Red
2016 Pierre Gonon St. Joseph
A great wine will emerge some day, maybe from 2028, but little pleasure right now. Lots of spice, but the fruit/ structure combination is brooding and awkward. 93-94 point potential.
