Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
1964 R. López de Heredia Rioja Gran Reserva Viña Tondonia Spain, La Rioja, La Rioja Alta, Rioja
94 points
Blind. Chinese herbs, liquorice, med acid, bitter grainy finish, some heat. At the end of the night on 2nd pour, raisin, tea, more integrated and enjoyable but bitter finish still obvious.

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
2004 Clos Rougeard (Foucault) Saumur-Champigny Les Poyeux France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur-Champigny
95 points
Blind. Forest floor, earth, capsicum interlaced with red fruits, med acidity, dry sandy tannins. Later in the night, cassis, grass, asparagus but drinking beautifully now. Fruits gain weight as it oxidise with herbal notes adding to the complexity as oppose to the earlier pour.

Red
1998 Vieux Château Certan France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
94 points
Blind. Capsicum, leather, earth, rustic on the palate with some roundness, plum, much more elegant at the end of the night, with plum notes more prominent.

Flight 5 (2 notes)

Red
2001 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
91 points
Blind. Jammy, touch of sour cherry, liquorice, some heat, high acid, smooth tannins. Guessed this as Sangiovese as the tannins were not high enough and the heat. Later in the night, this did open and give signs of the elegant style Giacosa wines.
Red
1995 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
93 points
Blind. Red fruits, orange, some earth, VA, fine tannins with touch of heat on the finish. Definitely no the same class as the 1996 drunk earlier this year. Apparently, after 2 hours, it was singing but unfortunately no more to try.

Flight 6 (2 notes)

Red
2004 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
91 points
Blind. Lots of capsicum, jammy, kirsch, touch of olive, dry tannins. Surprise this was a Clap given how the 2007 was stunning last year.
Red
1989 Pierre-Jacques Druet Bourgueil Vaumoreau France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Bourgueil
flawed
Blind. Tainted

Flight 7 (2 notes)

Red
2008 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combe aux Moines Vieille Vigne France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
94 points
3 hrs after pouring to Voss bottle. Alluring aroma of potpourri, blueberry, cold fruits, on the palate a little weak after the stunning bouquet. Full dry and coarse tannins with high acid. Give additional points for the beautiful nose but sadly the palate did not match up. Needs a few more years of age.
Red
1964 Château Cheval Blanc France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
86 points
Blind. Port like, dry fruits, raisin, rustic tannins, almost surply on the palate. Apparently this is how it is suppose to be like looking the tasting notes.

Flight 8 (2 notes)

Red
2007 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
92 points
Blind. Good fruits, irony, blood, cherry, med tannins, med finish lovely elegance on the palate.
Red
1990 Tenuta Greppo (Biondi-Santi) Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
93 points
Blind. Guess this as aged Bordeaux, iron, blood, rounded with dry tannins. A little aged compared to how I like my wines
