This was great
Maritime nose of crushed rocks nose abd a little iodine.
Silky attack with lemon, grapefruit, good minerality and cut to round it off. Long finish - excellent

Dark in the glass.
Nose has amber and dried lemon, some honey and nuts but clean.
Advanced on the palate with a particularly nutty finish.
A bit too evolved - drink up

Nice mature nose, a little sous boise but some dark cherry and blue plum. Lovely nearly sweet red fruit on the attack, super sapid mid palate and finish with a little pomegranate tang. Lovely.
Red
1997 Domaine des Chezeaux Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

Coffee ground a little dried cherry and herbs on the nose.
On the palate over ripe plum with some cough linctus and a little ferrous. Quite serious
Red
2002 Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru Les Fremiets France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
92 points
Quite a subtle nose. Over-ripe strawberry and green leaf, a little spearmint. Palate is a bit more generous with sapid strawberry and raspberry. Very long persistent finish. Nice

Flight 4 - Battle of Les Pruliers (3 notes)

Red
2014 Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
93 points
Last bottle of this wasn't quite right - this was good.
Lovely polished nose - deep red cherry, a little medical dressing / witch hazel (in a good way).
In a good position on the palate fresh yet soft red fruit and a long finish.
Red
2012 Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
92 points
Shyer nose then the 2014. Fresher red fruit and some ferrous kick. Feels very young on the palate - bright and spritzy fruit. Opens up a bit with time.
Good stuffing but needs longer
Red
2009 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
93 points
Over ripe plum but with a little tangy lift, and some witch hazel.
Excellent palate - great intensity of sapid fruit. Really juicy long finish. Really really good - sort of wine that convinces me that red burgundy is worth the hassle.
