Flight 1 (2 notes)

White
2019 Faiveley Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
93 points
Pale yellow, and starbright. Rich nose with vanilla and brioche aromas, as well as ripe apricots and mangos, as well as a coolish mint. Bright zingy acids, quite some weight and a sure sign of phenolic ripeness shown in the nearly sweetish apricots and pineapples, as well as brioche, vanilla and cinnamon. Lengthy. Pretty hunky dory, but really good balance. Nice!
Red
2012 Castelgiocondo (Marchesi de' Frescobaldi) Brunello di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
92 points
Medium deep garnet with marked browning edges. Aromas of dill, tarragon, rosemary, and some ripe cranberry, with strong toast and almonds. Still a little bite of the tannins, mouthwatering acids, and fairly intense flavours of the red cherry, rosemary and dill, as well as some red flowers, cloves, nutmeg, and toast, then savoury beef roasts. Medium length, and good complexity
