Introduction
Theme of Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Champagnes
Flight 1 (8 notes)
White - Sparkling
1996 A. R. Lenoble Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Millésimé
95 points
Wonderful yeasty notes open up on the nose. Toast and some zesty citrus on the palate, this feels alive in your mouth (beyond the bubbles). Great structure. Still maintaining some good bubbles after 13 years. Great bottle that I wish I had more of.
Red
2001 Hagafen Pinot Noir Napa Valley
90 points
This bottle was showing a little age it seemed, but it lacked little. Still had some cherry notes on the nose. Mellow on the palate, with very pleasant berry and cherry notes. Good mid length finish. Drink now.
Red
2005 Windward Vineyard Pinot Noir Monopole
91 points
Very good Pinot Noir. Mild on the nose, it had an earthier characteristic that was very enjoyable. The fruit was present on both the nose and palate, but not as over the top as some Pinot Noirs are. Great finish.
Red
2007 Loring Wine Company Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard
91 points
Tasted alongside the 2004 A.P. Vin Garys' Vineyard. This was more austere than the A.P. Vin. Mellower in the fruit flavors, very good balance. Very enjoyable.
White
2007 Aubert Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard
93 points
Amazing flavors of buttered popcorn. Notes of citrus and oak, but not so oaky as to be out of balance. Great bottle!
Red
2006 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard
89 points
Nice spiciness and fruit characteristics, like peppered cherries. The finish really blossoms with these characteristics, which was enjoyable.
