Very complex and classic big cab but alcohol level was 15.5. Way too high for a good night's sleep.

This vintage offers depth and nuance with additional structure and longevity. Nightwing is located at 1,200 feet elevation on a windy mountainside at the eastern edge of the cool Sonoma Coast appellation. It gets its name from the variety of winged creatures that come alive as the sun sets. Pommard clone, planted at the top of the vineyard, provides a deep, rich core and silky texture. Clone 115, residing lower on a steep slope, adds fresh red fruit flavors and structure. SS

Very few hints of Tempranillo in this bottle. It tasted more like a red blend from Washington. How could they do that to our favorite grape?

Deeply colored, the nose kicks off with an intensive display of flowers, truffle, cigar box, cedar, red and black currants, lead pencil and savory herbs. Full-bodied, silky, sensuous, rich and vibrant, the layers of black, red and blue velvety, spicy fruits hit everything just right. There is a beautiful purity to the fruit and symmetry on the palate.

We loved this wine. It is light bodied but very complex. Langhe produces some outstanding wines and this one is a great value for that area.Yes, I will use the word --sexy.

Lots of structure with this wine. You could hold it for probably another 5 years. Deep dark boysenberry fruit gives some muscle and lots of character to this wine. That also makes the Al2 a little higher than some but not too hot. 14.3.

Wonderful and complex. However the color at the beginning was much different than at the end. There was a lot of micro sediment. A lovely wine. Thank you Crunchredfruit.com for the wonderful recommendation.

I'm not a fan of many Washington wines. Many seem overworked but thanks to CrunchyRedFruit.com delivering this one to the house, I am voting this one a winner. It is a very well crafted wine with great structure to hang all that delicious fruit on. You must try this blend.

Paired well with Guava paste and cheese! A "party style" french pinot. Not pretentious like many french wines, it just seems to be giving it all up for attention. A "mixed fruit" bouquet of strawberry, dark cherry and other subtle notes makes you think about how different this is than any other French pinot. Don't pass this one up. It's a fun friend.

This is rich, bold red blend from Mark Ryan, a winemaker who's been cranking out hits from Washington state since 1999. This is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) with the balance rounded out by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Think dark, spicy plum fruit with a kiss of toasty oak and soft tannins. Classic Washington State red blend. --Thanks Jackson Rohrbaugh -crunchyredfruit.com give them a try! DAB

I love Beaujolais and it's no secret. Here's a wine that is just pure cheerfulness and play. There's plenty of stony, spicy complexity here, but that's not the face this wine presents. Instead, it wants to be your friend and have fun with you. Enjoy this with roast chicken or charcuterie, and watch how fast it disappears. --Jackson Rohrbaugh -crunchyredfruit.com give them a try! I had this wine at Pebble Beach Food and Wine this last spring. It was one of those moments where the lightbulb goes off over your head. This wine was just pure deliciousness and I couldn't stop going back to this winery's table for more tastes. The winemaker is a fellow Master Sommelier named Chris Miller, who also spent time in Seattle at Canlis honing his skills. Chris based this wine off of a bad breakup, but it's so delicious you'd never think that was the case while drinking it. It's made in a Pétillant-Naturel style, which means the bottle was capped before fermentation finished, so the natural CO2 stayed in the bottle and made it bubbly. --Jackson Rohrbaugh -crunchyredfruit.com give them a try! This is a gorgeous, perfumed Grenache from central Italy. I've never encountered much Grenache from this part of the world, but it reminded me of some of the Grenache I love best from both Spain & France: peppery, smoky, buoyantly fruity, light on its feet. I love the aromatics of this wine so much and I think it really swings above its weight class.--Thanks Jackson Rohrbaugh -crunchyredfruit.com give them a try! DAB

This is another wine from the Loire Valley, made by a small family winery that farms and harvests their vineyards themselves. Chenin blanc is so cool because it has a totally different texture than Chardonnay or Sauvignon blanc. It's almost a spicy, fuzzy quality that reminds you of spiced apples and wet wool. This wine finishes very bright and brisk, which contrasts nicely with the silky texture. -- Thanks Jackson Rohrbaugh -crunchyredfruit.com give them a try! DAB

Les Athletes du Vin Pinot Noir, Loire Valley, FRA - This is a really crisp, yummy Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley in central France. This is made by three separate winemaker friends who farm their vineyards organically and occasionally collaborate on group projects with leftover wine. This pinot noir has the snappy character of Burgundy but with more crunchy, bright cranberry fruit and nice soft tannins. Jackson Rohrbaugh -crunchyredfruit.com Give them a try!

We were pleased to have been greeted by this wine on this special 2019 Thanksgiving. He graciously shared the little fruit he had left, and despite his age, he was telling us he had not given up. He greeted us with a pleasant smile and soft handshake and a warm hug. We welcomed him to the table and enjoyed the conversation about our honored guest and how he became part of the family. We were very thankful.

Lovely fruit but just a touch too much oak to make it a clean finish. Oak tended to mask the individual fruity notes. (We had this bottle before a bottle of Hartford Chard which was much more impressive.)

For a region that’s so focused on single-varietal wines, and so keen to highlight their numerous Grand Crus, Hugel’s “Gentil” is an anomaly. A blend of the noble varieties — usually Riesling-dominant with Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat and Sylvaner — the estate ventured away from the norm. It’s meant to be fresh and consumed young — easy, simple, and pleasurable. But don’t think the house is dialing it in; Charlotte Hugel, the 13th generation, explains, “Grand Crus are easy, it’s the entry-level wines that are difficult to find consistency.” Ins_de Wine 7/2019
