9/29/23, 1:49 PM - Your bottle was flawed so should not have been scored, as this affects the sense ofthe quality of a good bottle of the wine
9/9/23, 12:33 PM - I think it obvious your bottles had a problem, especially as you just bought a 17 year old wine. Look at the other 380 comments and ratings and your experience is the outlier. When my wine experience is poor and inconsistent with others' experiences, I don't leave a score, describe my experience, and add that I likely had a wine bottle that had some problem.
10/28/22, 5:44 PM - obviously a flawed wine so why score?
2/24/20, 2:55 PM - Score doesn't match comments--you may have meant 94 and not 54
10/9/19, 2:00 PM - If you had read our tasting "Vini Rossi" on our first of nine flights, it states "A look at top 9-10 year old Montepulciano d'Abruzzos......We threw in a top Vino Nobile di Montepulciano to shed light on a classic misnomer." It's a very definitive Italian red salon, with 30 MS, MW, certified somms, chefs, et al in attendance, with wine from 1961 onwards. Note a flight of merlot (Masserto, Messorio, Galatrona, Redigaffi) had a 98 Fleur de Gay added, one of only two fine Bordeauxs which is 100% a single varietal--meant for discussion because it is .....a salon. So that's why the Poliziano, a wonderful Montepulciano just not of the Abruzzo persuasion, to stimulate discussion.
12/15/18, 6:58 PM - I believe you had a flawed bottle (your description says just this), and as such should not score the wine. I've drunk a half dozen bottles of this wine the past two years and found all excellent, and likely at its prime now. Sorry I didn't post my notes here.
12/15/18, 6:45 PM - Shouldn't rate a flawed wine. Just need to look at the history of others' tasting notes to know that this was a bad bottle, the fault of winery, distributor, merchant, or personal cellar. The 78 point score brings down the overall rating of the wine by a couple of points. I have drunk six bottles of this plus a magnum of it and they were all excellent and corresponded to the others' positive tasting notes.
2/15/15, 3:47 PM - Unless you have a tasting note on your bottles, one posting is enough. All your 88 ratings just bias the wine to you and disallows others to have an equality with your view
