This is a big wine and needs a little air to come together. Just a little boozy for me at times but still pretty tasty.

A bit more oxidative in style. A little darker, notes of apple and honey. Nice value.

Liquid fig newton. Sssooo sweet, might be a little over the top in that regard but still pretty fun.

Still very good but had this iron/metallic element that I find in many Pinots that I don’t love. Don’t often find that in the Ceritas wines but a little here. Not overwhelming but knocks it down a peg for me in terms of overall enjoyment.

Well balanced, interesting and quite tasty. Lighter than it looks but still more mid-weight overall. Nice fruit, some spice and just enough earthy notes to make interesting without going over the top.

Not as fresh and balanced as the ‘21. Solid but the finish is a little disjointed

Rolled the dice on a staff pick at the wine shop and not loving it. Took advice below and decanted for a few hours before trying. Definitely has a funky nose, I think a little brett, C just thinks reductive (sometimes hard to distinguish, at least for me). It’s not going away though which really caps the enjoyment on the wine. Decent fruit, a little herbs, nice acidity. Even if the nose was better not sure I’d be loving it at the price.

One of the better Malbec we’ve had, at least for the style of wines we tend to like more. Some blue fruit, a little bit of herbs, great acidity to keep it fresh.

Thought this would be undrinkable from the first sniff but turned out to be ok. Crazy vanilla and some nice fruit but definitely a fair amount of smoke too. Blew off a little with air but finishes with a gritty, ash, aftertaste. C doesn’t want to fight through it so getting her a different bottle and I’ll finish this it off (or most of it).

This is a fairly amazing wine for $9. Originally purchased hoping it would be nice to cook with but drinking the half bottle left over on beef stew night is turning out to be a pleasure. Not super complex but nice fruit, balanced acidity. Sort of blown away given the price.

Dangerously gluggable. How's that for a note?

This smells like a wine that’s 40 years old but tastes fairly vibrant and fresh. Weird experience. It’s fine but was surprised at what we paid for it. Not a rebuy for us.

Much better than our previous bottle but still not great. Tastes ok, some cherry, nice acidity to keep it fresh. But the nose it tough to get past so only drank about 1/2 the bottle.

More oxidative in style. A little funky honeyed citrus thing going. Lots of acidity. Good but not our favorite style I’d say.

Sort of a funky barnyard nose. Not overwhelming but distracting. Some decent fruit but also a little metallic/copper/iron note that we weren’t digging. Dumped pretty quickly.

Was just ok at first, a little pithy and sort of uninteresting. But as it warmed up it really blossomed and turned into what we remember loving when visited last fall.

Ended up drinking a full case of this over the last 3 years and remained strong throughout and a great value. Feels like adding some depth of color, a little caramel/honey note hinting at the extra couple years in bottle but still really fresh and vibrant overall. Good stuff.

This was tasty. Nice depth, balanced acidity. Tannins still a little aggressive so I'm sure will be better in a couple more years but don't see the harm in opening now if inclined.

I realize we are opening WAY early (long story). Decanted for 3-4 hours and then drank over the following 2-3 hours. A lot of dill pickle to start (American oak? Can't remember the oak treatment here) but that calmed down after an hour or so. From there a lot of dark fruit, nice acidity, tannins not completely unruly to our surprise. I'd suggest waiting a while on this one but was still interesting, complex and tasty with a few hours of air if wanted to check it out.

2 years since our last bottle. Has a little honey on the nose which I don't think I noticed last time, perhaps starting to give a little hint to its age. After that still a ton of citrus with crisp acidity. Definitely better as it warms up and gets some air so keep it away from those flutes! :)

A lot going on here. On first pour I thought I was about to drink a chardonnay as it had this creamy oak thing going on with the nose that blew off after 5-10 minutes. After that, super bright, citrus, a little floral. Super interesting, complex, fun and delicious.

Decanted about an hour, drank over the following two. Didn’t tell C anything about this one and she thought smelled a little like gasoline (though this lessened as time went on). For me, and I’d like to think I was being objective, there is some ash on the nose and palate. Noticeable but not overwhelming. BUT, overall the wine was just ok. Nice fruit but something isn’t quite right (especially at this price point). We’ve enjoyed several MB’s young with a quick decant and this just doesn’t compare.

Disappointing at this point. Muted nose, mostly just the alcohol coming through on the nose and palate. Feels like even more alcohol than the 14.5% on the label. Not sure if this comes together but I guess I’ll try and sit on the other bottle to see if it improves.

Has this fun, almost honeyed nose. One of those subtle fruit, liquid rock type champagnes. For my taste could use just a little more fruit to balance it out but I can appreciate the style.

Delicious. A lot of tart cherry, just starting to develop some tertiary notes. For me, probably time to drink up as I like a hint of those older notes to make it interesting but not much more.

Probably the best Kirkland wine we've had. Looks, smells, tastes like you'd expect... not sure why that surprised me but it sort of did! Not overly complex but tasty. Seems like you could lay this down for a while but we enjoyed the freshness here so we'll probably drink them early.
