Good. A bit past its prime. Had a musty nose, but drank ok.

Very Good / Excellent. Decanted and sat for 45 minutes before first taste; drank over the next two hours. It is what you would expect from Stag's Leap. Deep purple color, long legs, dark fruits, vanilla, cassis. Very smooth, almost creamy. It is a Parker-ized wine.

Very Good. We were concerned that this might have passed its prime. We decanted for about 30 minutes prior to drinking. Beautiful ruby color. It retains a wonderful acidity despite the depth of the red and black fruits. It paired fairly well with braised lamb and potatoes, but it probably would have paired better with, guess what, northern Italian.

Bricked and closer to vinegar than wine.

Good. Inky purple, decent legs. It has the typical green pepper notes of Chilean Carmenere on the nose and the palate. Reasonable finish; it lingers for a few seconds. Nice wine for $12.
Red
Good. Part of a vertical tasting. This vintage was the least favored. After the rich and jammy 2016, this felt thin and under-developed. Not even as good as the 2019, which was not TH's best.
Red
Very Good. Held this back as part of a five-year vertical tasting. This was hands-down the consensus favorite. Dark and jammy. The cork was nearly black when I pulled it. Decanted and let it open up for two hours. Wow.
Red
Good. A little past its prime, but still drinkable. I held this back to taste as part of a five-vintage vertical. Brambly and jammy, Consensus opinion was second best to 2016.
Red
Good / Very Good. Pop and pour by the pool on a summer night. Inky purple. First note on the nose is powerful vanilla. Red fruits, warm tannins. Delicious, and better once it has been open for a couple hours.
Red
Good. Pop and pour with a group of friends on a warm summer evening by the pool. Inky purple. Rich dark red fruits with some tobacco, leather and herbs. For the price (~$25) it is an excellent summer drinker.

Good. Other reviews claim it needs more time. To me, it tasted like it is past it's drink-by date. Deep inky purple and some tobacco notes, but it felt flat and not nearly as interesting as other Ridge wines.

This is drinking very well right now. Medium dark wine, long legs, delicious fruit with hint of classic Rhone herbs.
Red
Fair / Good. I have several inexpensive Mencias lately with high QPR. This is not one of them. It's ok, standard mencia notes, just nothing I would buy again.
Rosé
Good. Nice bright fruity rose. Acidity is balanced. Paired well with crab salad.

Fair. It's wine. Not much nose; rather thin. But then it's $10.
White
Good. Pleasant, semillon dominant white wine. Low acidity, dry, subtle hints of grassiness. Had it with some grilled chicken.
Red
Good. A bit on the light side for a CdR, still a pleasant drinker with nice acidity. Better with food than on its own.
Red
Very Good. A very nice Givry: strawberries and cherries. Nice acidity. Drinks really well with salmon and veggies.

Good / Very Good. Plummy, jammy, oaky. It drank really well with pork bbq. I normally drink beer with bbq, but the bottle was already open and I gave it a try. It worked.

Good. Dark ruby color, long legs. My seasonal hay fever has made it a challenge to taste test wine, but it has a nice mouthfeel, much like Rhone wines that don't see oak. The alcohol is well integrated. Certainly a very nice wine for $10.
Red
Good. Bought this off the clearance rack at a good wine store. I was thinking it would be past its "drink by" date, but this was surprisingly good. I don't drink a lot of montepulciano, but this was the darkest, densest in my recollection. Tasty.
Red
Good. Nice dark ruby color. Good legs. Has traditional cab notes except a bit of vegetal, almost green bell pepper notes on the finish, similar to a Chilean Carmenere.
Red
Good/Very Good. Bright raspberry flavors, a bit of forest floor. It reminds me of a beaujolais. It tends to the lighter side of French Burgundy. Delicious. It paired well with broiled cod in white wine and butter sauce and veggies. Because it is light, it did not overpower the fish.
Red
Good. A tasty Zin-Barbera blend. Smooth drinkable. Plum notes. The barbera really softens the zin. It's a nice change from some overpowering, high-alcohol zins.
Red
Good. A classic T-H red field blend. Lots of Zin. Tasty. Bramble, cola. Well integrated. Probably could use a few months in the bottle.
Red
Good. Just a very well made Cab Franc. It hits all the right notes; juicy, a bit rustic, ready to drink. Delicious.

I may have been good once, but it is way past its drink-by date.
White
Good. A very nice un-oaked chardonnay. Apple notes, nice acidity. Reminds me of Macon-Villages. I only bought a couple bottles, Should have gotten more.
Red
Terrible. I ordered this from Last Bottle during their August marathon. It was finally delivered yesterday (12/23), yes five months later!. It is AWFUL. Cloudy, lacking structure, fruity nonsense. A complete waste of time and money.
Red
Good. Darker in the glass than on the palate. Still, rich fruit and raisin flavors with some nice acidity for a mid-priced ripasso.
White
Good. Fruity with honey and salt notes, but not sweet. Paired well with salmon.

Good. Dark purple in glass. Long legs. Prunes and tar on the nose. So you think maybe something really good is about to happen. And ... it is okay. A little thin, short finish. Maybe some dark cherries and hint of herbs. It's fine for $15. Easy drinker; less heavy red meats.
Red
Good. On opening it was pale ruby color. Floral nose. Light, bright fruit, floral notes on the palate, too. Very nice. I let a half bottle sit recorked for two days. It had a flat, creamy mouthfeel and fruit was no longer bright.
Red
Good. Medium color. PnP is was pretty good. Lots of oakiness, some classic zin bramble and cola. Second day it was rather flat. At 15% abv it is pretty well integrated.

Good. Totally lush and rich California GSM. Delicious. Full of sediment.

Good. On PnP the wine had a bit of a bitter edge on the finish. I put the cork back in, came back the next day, and it had opened up nicely. Light fruit, touch of raisin, and now just a hint of sweetness on the finish. Drank it with mushroom and roasted red onion flatbread. It nicely complemented a not-so-fussy dinner.

Good. This is not great wine, but it is just fine for $15 (maybe less) at Costco. It's a bit syrupy, dark cherries, maybe some cocoa and pretty much what I would expect from a Sonoma merlot. We had it with grilled steaks and roasted veggies and my wife, who is a right-bank girl with Bordeaux thought it was "ok, not great" and had the second glass. Happy wife, happy life...right?
Red
Good. Pretty standard Paso cab. Good QPR through Last Bottle. Paired nicely with grilled rib eyes and roasted brussels sprouts.

Good. Past its drink-by date. It was good PnP, but as it sat for a while, it clouded up and lost its brightness.
Red
Very Good. This is just straight up delicious. Dark cherries, cranberries, touch of forest floor; just everything good Burgundy is supposed to be.

Good. I like it. Nice color and balance. Lingers with a decent finish, though I got a touch of bitter on the end.
Red
Good. Nicely balanced wine for $10 at Costco. It ain't great, but I wasn't expecting great. It's better than expected.
Red
Good. I usually don't like French malbecs as much as Argentinian, but this is nice. Inky dark color; rich fruit. Delicious. Great QPR.

2016 Château Palais Cardinal St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Good / Very Good. Dark, dense purple. Classic Cab of blackberries and herbs with nice tannins and structure. My wife says slightly acidic finish; I disagree.

Good / Very Good. Dense purple. Cherry cola, bramble. Yummy. The alcohol content (15+) is a bit overpowering though.
White
Good. Bright acidity. Good afternoon quaff.
Red
Good. Basic cab. Nothing special.

Good. Pale, pale pink. Slight fruit flavors; mostly just an acidic rose that paired okay with grilled chicken and veggies.

Very Good. This is a truly interesting wine. I've not had tannat before, but this is a crazy good wine. Dark, inky purple. Round, thick wine with dark berry flavors, herbs and balanced oaky vanilla notes. We had this with grilled steaks and roasted sweet potatoes and the wine was the star.
