This is the best value I could find in the LCBO. I scoured the province and bought every bottle I could find.

excellent nose, more complex than your typical malbec, drinking superbly

Very easy drinking wine, so smooth, just slips down. However at this price point expected more.

what a great bottle of wine, I had forgotten whatI paid for it, drank it back to back with a Sterling Cabernet, and it was so much better!

I went out with a group of six people to a BYOB restaurant and everyone brought wine. there is a certain social expectation in these situations so everyone brought what they deemed to be a decent bottle of wine. I took a bottle of the Sterling Vineyards Platinum Reserve and it blew all of the other wines away by a country mile. It was the clear favourite of the four people drinking red wine, and was much better than a bottle of Sterling SVR (not sure I have the right initials) a wine that is generally considered to be a great Napa wine and only $5 less expensive than the Platinum.
One of the people at the dinner went to the Costco where I had bought the wine on Monday and by then they had sold out. A great value at $32, and still a great value at $50.
Amazing wine.

Had this after a 2005 Bordeaux, it was a hands down winner versus the Bordeaux 3even though it was considerably less expensive.

A very ordinary California cab, no better than many other "name" California Cabs at same price point. Drank this with a group of people with a number of different bottles, this did not show well.

A decent wine, nothing to get too excited about, did not live up to my recollection of past bottle. it had a rather unpleasant viscosity to it when first opened, seemed to get better with time.

I was quite underwhelmed by this; I had expected so much more based on some of the reviews. Almost unpleasant when first opened, improved with time and with food but nothing memorable.

tannins were overpowering at first better when it opened up and definitely needed food to go with it. If you can decant well in advance.

Drinking beautifully now, this was the last of the case, and it is drinking so much better than I remember. Did not have high expectations but was blown away by the quality, rich full bodied, but still mellow.

Ouch, what happened? I took this to a local restaurant and raved about it based on the past bottle. this bottle was awful, it was not corked, just very flat with all of the vibrancy gone.

Drank another one and did not disappoint. The heartiness of an Aussie Shiraz with some french complexity combine to make this a very well balanced wine, good nose, velvet on the tongue and clean finish.
