Clear, bright ruby in the glass. Scents of black pepper, bell pepper and raspberry. Herbaceous flavors up front, with black tea, currents and prune settling in - layered over blackberries. Generally balanced to slightly acidic, with a medium body. Overall I enjoy this wine and it pairs well with a broad range of foods.

Dark Ruby, moving toward purple with bottle aging - Strong scents of alcohol, as well as spice, pine and asphalt - the wine is very good - strawberry jam up front with a full and velvety mouthfeel, which eventually gave way to vanilla and oak on the long finish - I thoroughly enjoyed this pour

The last of 4 bottles that I consumed over time. Sad to see this go - magenta to purple in the glass - A nose of licorice, bell pepper, sandalwood, black currant - expressive and warm - A very round and plush mouthfeel - initial hits of strawberry jam, braced by good tannins and acid - balanced - a velvet hammer - pouring incredibly well right now - glad I had the patience to wait for this one.

I am biased with this wine, as I am a bit of a Xavier fan, so I anticipated likening this wine, and have enjoyed it in the past. The wine is clear, ruby to garnet in hue. Immediate septs of red licorice, anise, even some menthol - all of which lays over the top of red fruit. The wine is dry and very tannic. Thin on the attack, the wine finishes for some time - I am finding late raspberry and it lingers. Perhaps decanting or more time in the Eurocave, but certainly not upsetting as is...

Bright straw in the glass, with a mineral nose, perhaps some graphite. A dry wine that begins with tastes of caramel, honey and a little burnt wood. nice even finish. Overall, a fine pour.

Pale golden pour, a floral nose of lychee and honey and the slightest of oak. The wine is slightly sweet with a medium plus body. It was a much sweeter and fuller wine that I would have thought from a Pinot Gris - the finish had a slightly off taste. This wine smells much better than it tastes. Maybe with a little time in the glass it will improve...

This is the last bottle of several - I have been a fan of Matt Cline's for some time, enjoying what he did with Trinitas and now 3.

This bottle is really nice, pouring a clear deep garnet color, approaching maroon. It has a complex nose, with each inhalation bringing a little something different. Upfront is the fruit, with scents of plum, cherry, blackberry - intermingled with the fruit is vanilla, some oak, and honey. The wine tastes as it presents to the nose, and is full and off-dry. The level of of alcohol is quite high, at over 15%, but the wine does not reveal that fact. The highly tannic wine is well structured and drinks nicely with a medium to medium long finish.

Overall, I am really pleased with the way this is drinking right now. This is much better than I recall the previous bottles I already consumed.

Clear, Garnet with signs of bottle aging - Strong cherry and strawberry on front of the nose followed by light oak, some smoke and clove. Off-Dry, with medium body - Strong fruit (berries, cherry) with a mildly tannic finish, some lingering flavors of currants and black tea

Clear, ruby appearance - A nose of cherry, bell pepper, and white pepper with some oak - Dry with a light to medium body - Immediate tastes of toffee and fig that mellowed into a medium long spicy finish - structured with mellowing tannins - popped and poured - a little time or decanting would unwind this bottle nicely - I have one more bottle that I will let sit a little longer - very nice right now, 6 months more or so, likely even better

Ruby, with Raspberry, Strawberry Jam and a touch of smoke on the nose - this wine is full bodied - fruity and tannic, with a long soft mouthfeel - There is an intense attack of fruit and it finishes long and soft with lingering berry and jam flavors

(I am just starting to try my hand at more detailed tasting notes)

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. It smells like black pepper and strawberry jam. It tastes like cedar, black pepper and blackberry. The body is full. The wine finishes long.

Gift from Uncle Kevin. Although Merlot is now maligned by some, this is a great wine

Too floral for my taste. Not bad, just not my preference
