Served at Easter with ham. Deep color almost like a claret. Peppery start and more tartness than expected. Occasional tastes of earth/umami, but not as much as I would prefer. Very nice, long finish. Solid wine but, for the price point, leaves a little to be desired.

Still very clean with lots of acid, but more of a round, rich feel than I recall 6 months ago, close to a light chard. Very pleased.

Extremely oaky, at times to the exclusion of other tastes. Full, round, rich mouth with a clean finish. Mellowed on the second glass, but would like to see this again in 12 months.

Very well-balanced on the palate, with a full mouth of fruit without being overly jammy.

Aromas of a lot of citrus, clean, apple and honeysuckle. Surprising rich, buttery, oaky taste and long finish. One of our favorites.

Tight, acidic, aromas of pear, melon, and apple. Very forward taste that can improve as it mellows. Clean finish.

Aromas of honey, vanilla and melon. Tons of rich oaky taste with a clean, full finish. May become more buttery with time. Consistently impressive.

Lots of big, deep cherry, chocolate and spice flavors, but appropriately blended. Decanted for an hour and then ran through the Venturi. STOL enough tannin and structure to expect that it would be worth waiting a few years before trying again.

This is a phenomenal California cab. While it remains a bit high on tannins and alcohol, those have diminished significantly from six months ago. Cherry, chocolate, spice, and a deep full taste carry promise. While we have been Ramey fans for years, tonight's bottle made Ramey the "house red" for us, with a commitment to not drink another cellar bottle for at least a year. Hands down the best cab I've hand in the last eight months.

Aromas of straw, apple, and peaches. Peach and citrus strong on the pallet with hints of vanilla. A bit dry and acidic, but with much more going on than previous vintages.

Really a fine cab with massive potential, given that it is only a few years old and just entering the drinking period right now. Drank after pouring through a Venturi. Subtle flavors of cherry, vanilla, and licorice with a finish of peppery spice and a sustained but somewhat thin finish. Given the amount of tannin and structure to this wine, it should cellar well and continue to develop over the next few years.

Drank on New Year's Eve -- fine, but nothing spectacular; a few bubbles, but a little flat. This bottle was probably well down the hill, but may be because of storage -- origin in my cellar is unknown.

We let the bottle sit open for 75 minutes and then ran each glass through a Venturi -- ruby red in color with appropriate hues on the edges; powerful tastes of fruit with a smooth, velvety mouth feel and a finish of approximately 30 seconds. Bought at Silver Oak this fall with the intention of having with Christmas dinner, sentiment and memory made have made the wine more memorable than any of the wine's actual qualities. But, considering the questionable vintage, this was an excellent wine.

Big aromas of cherry and berries, but a rather sour finish that mellowed after an hour but never went away. Disappointing

A much better and, to me, different bottle than I tasted on Dec. 10. Big fruit flavors of citrus, apple, and melon with a floral nose. Fantastic balance between the citrus and acidity followed by a round, full mouth suggesting more oak than in my prior bottle. Very excited about this wine.

Very bright, crisp chard with lots of citrus and flower on the nose. A little bit of an oaky finish. If this comes together and mellows a bit over the next one to two years, this could be a fine, fine wine.

Very bright and crisp aromas of stone fruit and apple; huge fruit taste of apricot, honey, and oak with a hint of alcohol. Too sweet for a chardonnay for my taste, approaching the taste and mouthfeel of a riesling. Not bad by any account, but not what I look for in my chardonnays.

Upon open, a very strong smell of alcohol with berries. First tastes offered a very full mouth followed with a touch of spice finish. After 30 minutes, it became a hit or miss of very smooth tastes followed by tight, big flavors. I would try again in another year.
