What a wonderful wine. Still going strong since we last visited it in 2022. Dark berry notes dominate the nose to start. Hints of anise emerged on the back end. This wine still has a fruit forward start. It is a well balanced wine with a smooth, long, lingering finish. It finishes with a slight tannic bite. This wine still has many years ahead of it. I hope to catch this wine when the tannins come into perfect balance with the fruit.

Deep nose of dark berries starts this wine off beautifully. It is well balanced across the palate. Nice lingering finish to the wine. This wine is definitely correctly named. It is poetic all the way from start to finish. Perfect now, but it may tell a different story, for the next three to four years easily.

Great wine. Still going strong. Was not able to give formal notes but definitely a great example of Cabernet Sauvignon. Would definitely purchase again if it can be found.

What a wine. Nose of dark cherry and hints of chokecherry come through beautifully. This wine is perfectly balanced and has a nice long smooth finish. Just went with a pop and pour and it only got better as dinner progressed. Really looking forward to revisiting this wine in the near future.

This was a very pleasant surprise. Found it stashed in the back, and I was worried after all the reviews, that I had waited too long. Went with a pop and pour. This wine was good go. Kirsch notes dominant the nose of he wine, with hints of anise on the finish. Beautifully balanced wine with a nice lingering finish. I would not be willing to wager on how much longer this one can go. Would definitely enjoy as soon as possible.

Really enjoyed this wine. Beautiful nose of dark cherry and current dominant the beginning. Finishes with hints of cocoa and anise. This wine is very well balanced with the fruit shining through. Very nice tannic bite mid palate, with a smooth lingering finish. This wine went very well steak dinner. Very happy with this purchase and I am looking forward to trying my other two bottles in the next couple of years.

I love the nose of this wine. Very dark berry, blackberry/dark cherry, with hints of chokecherry. Very nicely balanced across the palate with a nice lingering finish. I wished I had more of this. It went well with steak but truly think it would shine with a cheese platter.

This is beautiful wine. One of the better noses I have had in a while. Dark cherry and cassis are dominant. It has a hint of anise on the finish. This wine is nicely balanced with the fruit shining though. It finishes very smooth, with a pleasant lingering finish. There is still a tannic bite so I would imagine this wine would still be going strong in the next three or four years easily.

Really enjoyed this wine. Very nice berry aroma to start. Tart cherry and currant dominate the start with a hint of anise at the end. This is a well balanced wine with very tart notes but finishes very smoothly. This is a well made wine that has a great QPR. As the previous reviewer stated only fault with this wine is the synthetic cork. Just wished I would have bought more.

This wine was not very impressive to start. Went with a PnP and nothing stood out. Resampled after one hour and this wine started to come alive. Slight hints of dark cherry on the nose. Very well balanced, with a pleasant, but short finish. Was a very good compliment wine with dinner. From where this wine started to where it ended was a night and day difference. Not sure if more cellar time would help though. Definitely would recommend letting this wine breathe for an hour or two before serving.

Still a very enjoyable wine. Cassis is the prominent aroma That is followed by dark cherry and a slight hint of anise on the backend. This is a nice wine just seems a little flat mid-palate and finishes a little too quickly. This wine still displays a large amount of fruit thoughout. I would guess the drinking window is closing soon. So if I have a recommendation I would say drink up.

Love the nose of this wine. Cassis dominates with a hint of a blueberry compote and anise to finish. A well balanced wine with a very pleasant dark berry flavor across the palate. The finish is pleasant just doesn’t not linger for long. Really enjoyed this wine. It still had some nice tannins left. I went with a one hour decant and this wine still improved over the course of dinner. Would say this still has a few years left for sure.

Delicious wine. Dark cherry dominates the nose to start. After an hour decant the dark cherry aroma is still there. Slight hint of anise also comes through. Very nicely balanced across the palate, with a bit of a tannic bite on the back end. This wine still has life left but will not disappoint if opened now.

As Lundmc stated previously, there was a ton of sediment on the decanter screen. I definitely would recommend a decant before serving. Went with a two hour decant before dinner. Dark cherry and black fruit aromas emerged upon the opening of the bottle. These settled down with the first glass but re-emerged with the last. This was a very nice change. The wine is well balanced, with a nice lingering finish. Hints of anise and cacao come through with dark cherry dominanting the nose. This wine improved throughout dinner and held its own against a nice ribeye. I would wager that this wine has three to five years of life left easily.

This a very enjoyable wine. Went with a pop and pour on it. Still a lot of life left in this wine. Bright cherry aromas come across first. Hints of anise and herbs follow. The wine is well balanced across the palate, with a nice, lingering bite on the finish. This wine did not change drastically over the course of dinner. I would guess that a couple more of the years in the cellar would only benefit it.

This is a lovely wine. Dark brooding nose of dark cherry and cassis comes across strong. It has a slight hint of cacao on the back end. Very rarely have I tasted a wine with this balance. Definitely roll this one across the palate and savor the experience. This wine finishes smooth with a long, and pleasant finish. Went with a pop and pour and after one hour this wine was singing. Sadly this was my only bottle. Just read all of Kevrob822 notes. Truly wish I could have purchased more of these as well. Very sad to hear there will be no more.

A very deep, dark nose starts this wine off nicely. Hints of cacao and anise complement it on the finish. A well balanced wine, with a tannic bite comes through mid palate. This wine has a beautiful finish. The finish is long, lingering and velvety smooth as it does. Really glad I have a few extra bottles to follow this wine for a few years.

Mmmmm great nose upon opening. Decanted for one hour prior to dinner. No sediment picked up in the filter. After an hour rest the wine started with a nose of chokecherry and slight hint of anise. A beautiful, well balanced wine emerged and continued to improve over dinner. Nice tannic bite throughout. This wine finishes very very nice with velvety tannins and a pleasant, long lingering finish. Sadly this is my only bottle.

I really enjoyed this wine. It went very nicely with a dinner of lamb chops. This wine was well balanced. Dark cherry dominates the nose with hints of anise and plum coming on the backend. It has a very nice smooth and lingering finish. I still think that this wine still has a couple of years left. I went with a pop and pour on this one and within 45 mins it was singing.

Went with a pop and pour on this one. Opens with a sightly closed nose but opened up nicely as dinner progressed. Dark cherry and cassis start to come through. This is a very balanced wine. l would say this wine would easily go, and improve for three to five more years. The finish is smooth and it lingers. This is a nice wine and look forward to trying my last bottle in 2024.

Amazing how this wine has changed over the last two years. Decanted an hour before dinner and from that pour deep notes of dark cherry and cassis emerged. As dinner progressed the wine seemed to lose the massive nose of dark fruit. A very balanced wine emerges with a smooth finish with a solid tannic bite. Would imagine this wine will have a number of years left to go. Can’t go wrong opening now, but could be rewarded with a couple more years of cellaring.

Went with a pop and pour on this one. This wine opened up nicely as dinner progressed. So I would give it a couple hours to breathe before serving. This is a nice cab with notes of cassis and dark cherry on the nose. It is in balance with a tannic bite and a nice finish. This wine should age nicely for a couple of more years easily. Really enjoyed this wine with dinner. This is a heavy wine and would just as easily go with cheese or on its own with out missing a beat.

This wine was very closed even with an hour decant. Ran though the iFavine for 2 minutes and what a difference. Intense aromas of cassis broke though, with hints of cherry and slight hints of anise. Still tight across the palate with a nice lingering finish. This is a very nice wine and definitely needs lots of air or 3 to 4more years in the cellar to show its best.

Upon opening big berry aromas emanate from the bottle. First pour and a very nice wine emerges. Perfectly balanced with a nice finish. Only odd thing was after an hour the wine seemed to pull in on itself. Lost the berry aromas and then tightened up. Still nice balance just missing what it started out as. Even after another hour it still had not opened back up. Still a nice wine. I would have ranked it three points higher if it would have stayed the way it started out.

Very closed and uptight to start. Slight hints of cherry and very tart finish. Ran through the iFavine for four minutes and it opened up nicely. Dark cherry dominates the nose, slight hints of darker berries emerge. Nice balance across the palate with a pleasant finish. Would hold for a couple of more years.

Not much across the nose, slight hints of dark cherry. Nice balance across the palate with a slight bite on the finish. Definitely would consume in the next couple of years. Really a nice wine just not a lot of complexity to it. Quite a bit of sediment so definitely would recommend a decant.

I think I may have opened this too early. It is a dark and brooding wine. Slight hints of cherry on the nose. Ran through the iFavine for four minutes and a slight improvement on the nose. I ran for another four minutes and was able to detect a little more. Ran out of wine before I could test it anymore. I would hold onto this and see if everything comes together.

So I would imagine it still has a few years of time left in the bottle. There is a bit of sediment so would definitely decant/filter.

A nice wine, with hints of cherry as the main aroma. I catch a slight hint of bret, not unpleasant at all, with hints of pepper on the back end. I may have opened this up a little too early. It has a tannic bite but the wine shows nice balance. It never seemed to change throughout dinner. So would recommend a decant or leave it in the cellar for a couple of years.

This wine really needs some air. The first half of the bottle was tight and slight hints on the nose. Second half of the bottle nose opened up with cassis and hints of cacao. Than across the palate the balance came through. Still a touch tight but kept improving throughout the bottle. Would definitely give this one some air time or 3 to 4 years wait. A really nice wine.

A very nice surprise. Nice aroma of cherry with slight hints of graphite come through on the end. Nice balance across the palate with currant coming across with a nice tannic bite on the finish. MMMMM this was very nice. Very dark and brooding wine. Aromas of currents and blueberry come through. Hints of cherry on the back. This wine is still alive and kicking with some years to go. Very nice start of fruit just a little flat mid palate but finishes very smooth with a nice tannic bite on the end. Sadly was my only bottle but would buy more if I can.

Went with a pop, a two hour wait, then a pour. Aromas of light berry, cherry and current, emerged. It is a good Cabernet, just not your typical California Cabernet. As previous reviewers have stated this wine leans towards the French style of Cabernet. Comes across the palate light but still has a very pleasant bite. The finish is smooth and very pleasant. This wine went great with dinner and will definitely be a crowd pleasing wine. May go another 3 to 5 more years but is quite drinkable as it sits currently.

Slight hints of cherry and lighter red fruit on the nose. With a smooth mouthfeel across the palate it is a nice wine. Just lacking a bite and finishes on the quick side. This wine will be a crowd favorite just not sure how much life it has left. I will drink my last two bottles by 2021.

Was pleasantly surprised with this wine.Slight hint of cherry on the nose with a slight hint of pepper. Pleasant across the palate just not much on the finish but for PQR this is quite nice. Will definitely be a general crowd pleaser. With a bit of time and air it may end up polishing a few rough edges. It would be interesting to see what emerges.

Went with a two hour pop before dinner. Came out a little lacking on the nose to start. Thirty minutes into dinner dark cherry aromas burst out with hints of anise. The wine is definitely not a fruit bomb. This wine screams for a big ribeye steak or hunk of well aged cheddar cheese. Across the palate it is a bit tight but has a very nice finish. This still has life left. I look forward to opening my last bottle in a few more years.

Went with a pop. Then poured an hour later. Can only make out slight hints of berry on the nose. I would never have guessed this to be a Paso Robles wine. From start to finish nothing dominates. This is not a bad wine to drink at all. Just missing one part to step forward in the wine. Still a very drinkable wine and went well with dinner.

What a nice wine. As Smcilhen said this has a tannic bite. I would still guess it has another 5 years left at minimum. Berry hints at the start and as it sat graphite and hints of anise emerged. Through the course of dinner hints of cassis and anise emerged. The finish is short a longer and smoother finish would have raised the score 3 points.

This wine tends to be toward the tannic side to start for sure. Ran through the IFavine for four minutes. Dominant hints of cherry and slight dark berry emerged. Wine was still tight throughout. Ran for another two minutes and aroma of darker berries emerged. Low sediment in bottle but would hold another 4 to 5 years before opening. Lots of potential just never seen it develop or I would have ranked this wine higher.

What a pleasant surprise emerges from this bottle. Tasted first with a pop and pour. Slight hint of cherry on the nose very tight mid palate but it has a smooth finish. Ran through the IFAVINE for two minutes this softened the tartness. Hints of blueberries emerged on the front. Ran through for an additional two minutes, and what a change. Blackberry with hints of cassis emerge. Still has bite mid palate with a smooth finish. I am looking forward to trying my last bottle in a couple of years. This wine has a backbone. I would guess it will go strong for another five years.

Nice wine! Tasted right out of the bottle. The wine is a little tight muted notes of dark cherry. Ran through the IFavine for two minutes and tasted. Darker berry emerges still a bit tight. Ran for another minute and this wine comes alive. Cassis with hints of bramble with a slight hint of cacao. Round finish mid palate with a slight bite. Would have rated this two points higher had it had a longer finish. It is a smooth finish just doesn’t last. Definitely would buy again. On a side note this was another wine the wife was not a fan of but I enjoyed.
P.S. lots of sediment in there so would definitely use a filter

Really like this wine. This was the second attempt at it and first with a clean palate. For an off year it has some very good qualities. Aromas of dark cherry with hints of eucalyptus bring out, as other people have commented, a more European feel to the wine. Very smooth mouthfeel with a velvet finish and a lingering finish. It is in a very nice spot now. Once again it was another wine the wife agreed on.

Did some experimenting with the iFavine tonight. Out of the bottle aroma of cherry. Taste was on the tight and tart side but pleasant. 2 mins in the iFavine did no favors no detectable distinct aromas and still tight and tart. 3 mins and wow what a difference black cherry blueberry and a hint of cacao finish smooth with a slight bite at the end. 4 mins and the aromas are not as distinct but the bite is gone and a very decent wine has emerged. 5 mins and aroma of cassis dominates. Very nice and pleasant finish but the tartness is gone. 6 mins a hint of cassis and very very smooth with little emerged. This was the last glass of this bottle so I would recommend starting at a 3 hour decant and then watch this wine change.

Very nice. Loads of dark berry and cassis up front. With a very nice bite across the palate. It has very nice finish I think 3 more years and will try the last bottle. This could even be better I grabbed and popped so it was a touch on the chilled side but kept getting better as it warmed. As a side note I ran it though the iFavine for 2 mins before serving.
