Perfectly ready to drink. Beautiful deep colour, with solid but not overwhelming fruit nose (cherry/blackcurrants to me). Long body, a little darkness on the end with the lovely tobacco/coffee note, and a nicely drawn out finish. Just a pleasure to drink, and I only wish I had more in the cellar...

a lovely bottle, opened with a number of friends that I met in 2004...but poorly matched with food (a spicy fish) or so I thought. Actually held up well with the fish, because of the peppery notes, and its little bit of lightness. Well balanced, fun nose, glad I bought it, great to drink with friends.

This is a wine actually worthy of the garagiste superlatives. It's rich, complex, has a bouquet that I still can't quite nail (spices, sugar, a good herbal hit). It is a bit viscous, though less so than a TBA or a vin santo. Has a complex beginning, with a fair bit of honey, but a great bit of acidity to end. I can't really rave enough about this wine. It is really really good, and quite special, and entirely worth it. Share with many of those you love, or open with the one you love on a random winters night, and all will be well.

Like below, needed 3 hours to open up. Have saved a little bit for tomorrow just to see what happens. But what a lovely petit sirah, with a long, rich finish, a surprisingly robust fruit core for its age...tempered by the earth/leather. Just a pleasure to drink, but please wait a few hours. Curious what tomorrow will hold. Wish I had more.

Definitely unique, quite funky and enjoyable. Both bottles were different though -- one had a very gentle hint of sweetness that I quite liked. Would buy again.

frankly, rather boring. A little too vegetal for my taste as others have noted.

enjoyable, a little on the thin side, but served it's purpose well and good QPR

Classic grüner. Great summer outdoor wine with some oysters, cod and salmon - robust enough for the salmon and zippy enough to work with oysters. Had it at the ocean grill in NYC - twice retail which is not at all bad for NY!

Wonderful really -- apple/citrus and that "orchard" taste, but with enough mineral support, complexity and roundness to complement food perfectly (seared scallops with a julienned kumquat crust and a blood orange gastrique).

(NB I am a conservative for ratings. But this was worth what I paid -- $ 20 at the vineyard, and then some)
