Wow. This is the 4th (and final) bottle for us. This has really come together since our first a couple years ago. Everything in balance, purity to the fruit and super smooth tannins. Great with tomato based pasta!

Had with a food and wine pairing menu at a small inn in south Texas. This particular bottle was in a really nice place. Good color, plenty of fruit...everything in balance. Ordered a second glass for good measure!

Light golden color. Lemon and faint funk nose. Lemon and unripe melon flavors. Bracing acidity but just enough body to make it enjoyable. Nothing wrong with this wine but nothing overly special either.

So, I'm a fan. Even though this was born a white burgundy, there is sense of fun in this wine reminiscent a youthful and inexpensive rose from Provence. The wine lacks the complexity and dusty spice you find in a good rose. But despite coming from a relatively cool climate, this wine keeps the acidity in check, making it as good on the patio as in the dinner table. Lacking in fruit and overall body but delivering in approachability and fun!

Rasins and cassis on the nose. Tobacco and slightly over-extracted red fruit. Shows Italian origin through and through. Good food wine.

Ordered 4 bottles from Last Bottle. Though we waited a few weeks after arrival to drink, the first two were either bottle shocked or just in a bad stage - overly tart and slight stewed fruit aroma. This bottle much better with dark berries and mild spices on the palate. Tannis were mostly integrated with a little grip left. This may just need a bit more age to work itself out; nonetheless, we like it now and see possible improvement in the near term.

Compared to prior notes, I think the tannins have fully integrated in this bottle. Nice dark fruit and structure without any rough edges. In fact, almost soft at this point. Nice bottle!

Tight and closed nose. Beautiful medium purple color. Still too young but great structure, not thin, and an intense dark berry/spice. Young tannins present. This should age well and develop really nice complexity.

Almost foggy appearance. A honeyed, surprisingly fresh nose. Medium body with delicious balance of honey and acidity. Pleasant surprise!

Inky dark in the glass. Muted mature nose with some spice. Much more open than the previous bottle but still tightly wound and grippy tannins. Delicious now but promises more in another year or two for the patient folks out there.

Nose is still a bit closed. Decanted 30 mins and the wine showed typical Sonoma profile, including spice and dark fruits, but also has some Napa warmth and ripe berry on the palate. Distinct undercurrent of coco powder. Truly a great wine but could use a couple more years to settle down.

This is definitely new world style. Youthful. But for the distinctly fine Bordeaux tannins it could be mistaken for a California can franc based Bordeaux blend. Fruit and acid in balance. Definite cab franc presence but well made. Will drink well for several years.

Smells like the tropics! With noticeable citrus on the nose. Easy drinking well balanced Sancerre. Acidity present but in balance. It's all here, grapefruit, some roundness touch of oak? But everything in check to make a great drinker!

Complex nose. Mint, cigar spice, some dusty sweet cherry. Still young and tight, though in its early drinking window. My concern is that it's a little thin so not sure about how much more concentrated it will become.

Very aromatic nose. Agree that this Nebbiolo does not favor the austere/earthy side. Instead there's good balance with moderate fruit and a lot of complexity for the price. I'm not typically a Venturi person but I actually preferred this upon open through a Venturi (I typically run most newly opened weeknight wines through for a quick taste to see if I want go through the effort of washing a decanter). Looking forward to the next bottle!

Big viscous apricot and some honey flavors. Acid is a little low so it comes across a little sweet but not offensive. Would like more acid and a little more petrol on the nose.

Dust and dark fruit on the nose. Think this is loosening up over time. I get more ripe fruit than a few months ago. Noticeable alcohol is balanced by dark fruits and spice. Also some olive and herb. Lots of time left to enjoy though not sure it's a long term hold.

Delicious! It's a perfect mixture of that quintessentially napa ripe, sweet fruit and firm structured tannins. Drinks wonderfully upon opening and lasts for days. Would put some away if I could only resist drinking them now! Well worth the $35.

Muted nose but nice blend of tobacco and mild spice. Definitively brown edges but age doesn't show on the palate. Leans a little acidic but by no means offensive. Mild non-specific red fruit with nice tannin and tobacco mixed in. Short finish is the only real disappointment. Decent value at $25.

A lot of stuffing! Expressive nose of dark fruit. Tannins are firm but not overpowering. Delicious dark fruit pushes through the tannin. While made for aging, there's a lot to love right now.

Perhaps over the very peak but really, really nice right now. Dark fruits, perhaps blueberry, and anise on the nose. Still has a good grip but tannins fully integrated. Slightly sweet oak character that is non-offensive. No discernible fruit. Nice finish.

The wine pours fairly dark in the glass. The nose does not put off any real individualistic character other than suggesting it's a restrained, mature style Cali cab (old world Napa?). Similar to the nose, not a lot of immediate character coming through. Fruit and tannins are in fairly good balance but again not really a discernible fruit profile and typical Napa. Comes across a bit simplistic at first Second day the wine opened up and was better. A good Napa cab but may just not be in its drinking window yet. Or perhaps we had overly high expections given the prior notes on the wine.

Light salmon pink in the glass. Mixture of stone fruits (peach), strawberries, and pronounced alcohol (13.5%) on the nose. Nice minerality and a fair bit of acid takes a front seat to the fruit, which again comes across with peach and strawberry. Definitely distinct from Provence, but not without charm. A good value at $12.

This wine's in a good place right now. A very nice concentration of dark fruit, spice and (as previously noted) a mild whiff of funk. A quick decant opened everything right up to give the wine a bit more complexity and finess. May go another year or two but think it may be at its peak now.

It poured a very light pale golden color in the glass. The nose smells of honeysuckle and a pronounced spice (allspice?). There is a nice rich viscosity to wine which shows strong honeysuckle flavor supported by the same savory fall spice as the nose. Quite dry with Stone fruit, mainly peach, remain in the background the whole time. Reminds me of a Northern Italy dry moscato from Piedmont with the cold weather nose from Alsace. But for the richness, I would have said old world white. Tastes hand made as most Jemrose wines usually do.

Pale straw color. Apricot, a little peach, Apple (green?) and some floral notes. Acid is present from the first sip but held pretty much in check by subtle stone fruits. One person at the table thought possibly a Sauvignon Blanc due to the acid cut. There is a noticeable amount of wood, however, 67% is older, so it stays in the background and provides a nice mouthfeel. Amazing value!

This is a really interesting wine. The nose clearly reveals young and ripe fruit but also has that Tuscan tobacco and leather smell. The palate has the same split personality as the nose. It's as if a good Italian produced were making Sangiovese in Italy but with young California fruit. Also there is a bit too much oak which brings the wine out of balance after some air. Not so good on day two.

Our third bottle of this wine. Fairly dark in the glass. A little smoke on the nose. Everything is in balance though. This wine is just starting to move past its peak IMHO. The fruit is in the background, the tannins are fully integrated and there is some complexity to the wine. Good for the price but not my favorite bargain Cali Syrah.

This was our third '07 and we've also had 2 '06s. The Urziger Wurzgarten has a great personality. The color is a darkening golden Amber. Very good viscosity and a strong petrol nose. Tons of mouthwatering acid is balanced nicely with strong stone fruit flavors. While you would think this would last another 10+ years, I'm not really sure. The 06 was markedly more muted even though a possibly better vintage. I would enjoy in the near term.

Our third bottle. I tend to agree with the prior comments that this is out of balance, if not over oaked. Still pleasurable on its own but is a tough match for food with the strong oak running throughout. Though not my preferred style (can you say white burgundy), I enjoy a good Cali oaked chard. However this is not one of them.

The previous comment captures the wine quite well. Very much not the typical 'new' Australian wine. Though I would say that in the 6 months since my last bottle, this wine has come together a bit more to produce a little more complexity, which is what you would want out out of an 'old world' style Aussie cab.

Third bottle with consistent notes. Wine is light straw color. The nose is a bit muted for what I generally expect from an Alsace wine (lacking a bit of that 'cold weather' smell). Similar to the nose, the fruit and acid are a little too subtle in the glass though in good balance. Good viscosity. Nose and palate got better the second day.

I think this wine is 'in the zone' right now. A lot of single vinyard character in this. Great stone fruit, sharp minerality, and integrated acids all come together in harmony. Also a typical Alsace (if not typical Paul Blanck) nose. Wish I had more....

Going to agree with the recent comments that this wine starts out fairly straightforward and simple. That being said, everything's there and in its place. Good clean fruit balanced by nice acidity, spice, and the right amount of oak for a Cali Pinot. I give a good score because it is well made and, IMHO, exactly what a Sonoma Pinot should be at this price. (To clear the air, I'm much more an Oregon/burgundy Pinot drinker myself)

I tend to agree with pretty much all of the most recent notes. This wine is about structure more than over extracted jammy zin flavor. I might be going to far but it reminds me of a Ridge zin in terms of style (not overall quality). Good fruit, good tannin and decent finish. That said, think it's in its peak window and won't go that much longer.

Tried in the store and wasn't overly impressed but we couldn't resist taking one home to see what we might get out of this very 'California' style cab franc. Though surprised by the lack of green vegetable notes, we were generally pleased with the balance of fruit and wood. Fruit in check with present but smooth tannins and wood. Good weeknight wine.

Our second bottle. Better than the first. Dark red in the glass with a fairly straightforward Australian cab nose. The fruit is in a good place and well balanced with the acid and tannins to make a relatively complex palate. Finish is short and just ok. Have two more that I may try to hold onto for a while longer to hopefully draw out some more complexity.

Our third bottle of this wine and so far the most enjoyable. However, I think our allotment may still be travel fatigued as there is still very little character or flavor. Light red fruit on the palate, though none of the typical Chianti Classico fruit is discernible. Similarly, none of those delicious Tuscan tannins or earthiness are present either. A boring wine if not overly fatigued.

Light and clear in the glass (very Pinot-like). The nose had a warm baking spice character to more than one of us. Upon Pnp everything was a little muted but opened up really nicely after a quick decant. Same warm spice and subtle red fruit on the palate. Agree there is good minerality, though this still a relatively light wine. Tannins in the distant background. Smooth finish. Great value at $13.

This was my third bottle with consistent notes. I love it for what it is. The prior comments one this bottle are fairly accurate in whereas upon opening the wine's acidity is rather sharp. However, 10 minutes on the counter and everything falls into harmony. Clear and focused cherry, light smooth tannins and it develops a soft mouthfeel as it sits in the glass. Straightforward yes, but isn't that what Italian table wine is all about! Will buy more

Similar to other comments, this is a big wine that drinks with finess after 11 years of age. Decanted and drank over two hours, started a bit tannic but the raisin and spices quickly surfaced to reveal a nicely complex wine. Still quit a bit of fruit but I'd drink this over the next year for sure.

Beautiful golden color. Nose suggested the wine's richness with dried apricots and some fresh peach. Very complex on the palate with candied/dried stone fruit, dark honey and balanced acidity allowing all the flavors to come through without being too sweet. Though this wine will age nicely for 10-20 more years I bought more to have in the near future!
