At the end of its drinking window. Syrupy, almost flabby, low acidity. Tannins still present, but greatly muted. Nowhere near as good as at its peak.

8/17/23, 8:45 AM - I hope it's a bottle variation. Although storage has been consistent at about 54 degrees. I have at least one more to open. I'll do so soon.

Corked but drinkable. Tannins were still evident, acidity was medium (-) , but wet cardboard aroma was somewhat off putting. Fruit was nearly exhausted. Clearly past prime.

Getting past prime.

To my taste, this is a little over-oaked. A little unbalanced on the oak side. The mouthfeel is creamy and lucious. It is a good example of a Oaked Napa Chardonnay. I preferred the DuMol, which we tasted side-by-side. The DuMol, from Sonoma, was more balanced in my opinion. Not as Oaked and a little more acidic.

4/22/20, 7:33 PM - Good to hear. I've had several DuMol chards since December and I have been very pleased.

Tasted with Giuseppe Vajra at Fausto at the CAC. Hart & Cru food pairing event, Cincinnati. Nov. 11, 2019.

AHHH! It was pointed out to me that this note originally rated the wine at "56". I think that was a rating-slider malfunction when I posted - or I had tasted too much wine (but how is THAT possible?). In any event, the wine is a 90. Beautiful Nebbiolo, very approachable - leaning toward Barbaresco vs. Barolo

11/21/19, 6:40 AM - No. "90". Thanks for pointing that out.

The color is pink copper is clear and limpid. The smells are floral, mineral, honeyed notes, pear, salinity, and hints of cherry. The tastes are grapefruit, light cherry, sea salt, tart citrus, and wet stone. The finish is crisp and zingy.
