Beautiful dark cherry colour. Fruity nose of blackcurrant yogurt, cassis and cocoa. On the palate it's silky and easy, not mediterranean at all. Nice finish. Nice 100% bobal wine.

Bodegas Pirineos bottles wine under two brands: Montesierra and Pirineos. This Pirineos Marboré, Somontano, 2001 has been in barrel for 18 months, and it's a coupage of three very well known grape varieties (Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) plus two local varieties (Moristel and Parraleta).
Served at 16º Celsius. Non decanted. Dark cherry colour with ruby rim. Intense nose of red fruit, noble wood, vanilla, chocolate and some subtle smoke. On palate it has a good balance between alcohol and acidity, good weight, and slightly drying wood tannins. Better nose than palate. This is the fourth time I taste this wine and I don't think the wood will completely integrate.
With "magret de canard" on a red wine sauce.
White - Sparkling

Served straight from the fridge. Bright and clean straw yellow colour. Good intensity punching salty nose of almonds, toasted hazelnuts, olives and "velo de flor". Elegant, delicate palate: dry, complex, salty. Great pleasure, great value. A good "fino".
