One of those wines where Im getting so much differences from previous CT notes that I wonder if Im drinking the same bottle
Dark ruby color with minimal clearing at rim
Medium aromas of red/ black fruit and strong secondaries of candlewax and iron/ mineral elements
Medium palate of mixed fruit and violets
High amount of green tasting tannins dominate this wine
Medium acidity and medium length
I found the tannins, which are green in nature IMO, to dominate the wine at this point, making it indistinguishable as a Beaujolais
These tannins need to subside, however Im not sure if theres enough fruit here for that
Very interesting that no one has mentioned this in previous tasting notes
Dont think this is bottle variation or a stage in development - just not sure

Dark violet color with mild clearing
Medium plus aromas of ripe cherry/ cranberry and forest floor - nice
Medium palate of red fruit and minerality
Medium sandy tannins and medium plus acidity
Palate doesnt hold up to expectations on the nose, thus not warranting a better score

4/2/2020 - dsamuel Likes this wine:
89 points
Deep garnet color - almost opaque with mild bricking evident
Medium plus aromas of red/ black fruit and dry herbs - raisinated qualities evident
Full broad palate of sweet black fruit / boysenberry syrup and dry earth - alot of body in this wine, presumably from 16% alcohol
Medium plus fine/ mouthcoating tannins and medium acidity
Interestingly, this wine other than the body does not appear overly alcoholic and quite integrated
Although not my style of wine, this is well made in an expected overripe way - needs more acidity to rate a higher score

Medium ruby color with mild clearing at rim
Medium aromas of delicate red fruit with fresh floral/ herbal accents
Medium palate of ripe red fruit with violets/ herbs/ mint
Medium plus medium coarse tannins primarily gums/ cheeks - fairly well integrated
Medium plus acidity with long finish
Very refined/ delicate Nebbiolo
Would prob lay this down for 2-3 yrs longer for tannins to resolve a little more

Beautiful light amber color
Medium plus aromas - extremely complex - ripe apricot and burned orange peel/ marmalade with jasmine and light petrol notes
Intense palate of tangy and honeyed with ripe luscious stonefruit and dry herbs - really beyond description
Mild amount of RS and medium plus acidity which keeps this in perfect balance
Length of least 30 seconds
Profound wine - I purchased this wine in 1991 when at Trimbach and it is such a pleasure drinking this after this many years!
This is why I love wine!

Beautiful dark dark ruby color - almost opaque with moderate bricking
Medium plus beautiful aromas of black fruit and smoke with mint and eucalyptus - strong herbal presence
Broad palate of black fruit/ leather, again with herbal qualities
High tannins remain but at this point are very well integrated and in balance due to the generous nature of this wine
Very nice wine and getting better with every tasting - unfortunately this was my last

Medium ruby - unfiltered
Medium aromas of candied cherry with earth/rock and touch of mint
Very Pinotish at this point and quite gorgeous
Rather broad and beautiful palate of red fruit and fresh herbs
Medium plus acidity and medium well integrated tannins

I love my Beaujolais young but this wine reminds me why I always stick some bottles back in the cellar
This has lost its crunch and morphed into a beautifully balanced wine
Not sure any further development lies ahead but could safely age for another 3-5 yrs - this was version with sulfites

Not much to add from previous tasting other than the palate seems to have evolved a bit and is now a bit fuller and more enjoyable. A nice everyday red and nice wine for the money.

Medium plus aromas of blackberry and plum with mineral aspect with mild oak influence
Medium plus palate which echoes above as well as additional mint
Medium plus coarse tannins coating the mouth and medium plus acidity
Alcohol tastes highish and out of balance with wine
Medium plus finish
I find this wine a bit atypical due to its rather bright fruit and lack of secondary aromas
Maybe better in 2-5 years

Medium ruby with moderate clearing at rim - ? unfiltered
Medium aromas of red fruit and plum with predominant green herbs/ pepper and mild oak influence
Medium/ thin palate of red fruit
Medium acidity and medium tannins with shortish finish
Pretty typical Chinon but a little lacking, especially considering the sunny vintage

I rarely do this, but tasting this wine the next day definitely warranted comment - The wines fruit has now blossomed into intense red fruit as I had previously expected - now warranting a 90-91

Light gold - crystal
Medium aromas of citrus with strong vegetal/ leafy component which I don't find very appealing. Quite typical for the varietal but more intense than I've had in the past - nice minerality as well
Medium finish - rather lacking in fruit component but with moderate saline component
Medium plus phenolic bitterness and medium plus acidity but overall structure is lacking, leading to rather short finish
Not a big fan but may have been better 2-3 yrs ago

Light gold color - crystal
Medium aromas of almond blossom/ ripe stone fruit with mild honeyed aspect
Medium palate - quite dense with fine structure and not much fruit - maybe unripe stone fruit
Medium plus acidity on upper and lower palate - again adding to the broad mouthfeel
Medium phenolic bitterness and long finish due to all the above
Not the best Verdicchio out there but well made and the structure is great
Nice wine for the money without a doubt

86 points
Medium ruby color with mild bricking
Medium minus aromas - faded red fruit with slight floral notes
Medium palate of red fruit and herbs
Medium plus/ high tannins dominating this wine
Medium plus alcohol and medium plus acidity
Possibly the most nondescript Nebbiolo I have tasted
Rather dark in color and not very aromatic
Definitely had the high tannins but essentially no fruit to back this up
Either this is an old bottle which would be unlikely or just not my style

Medium plus aromas of blackberry/ plum with some green aspects form presumed stem inclusion - very plush wine with perhaps a little ash on the back end
Medium palate of red and black crunchy fruit - almost jam like
Medium tannins and medium acidity with rather short length
Exuberant fresh fruit driven wine - definitely Gamay but distinguishable from a cru Beaujolais in the winemaking method

Brought to friends hose for dinner party so no formal tasting notes. From memory, this wine was clean and well made with definite creamy notes on the nose and great structure on the palate. At least one step above your typical Albarino. Not sure if this was due to old vines or lees contact or both, but I really appreciated the mouthfeel of this wine.

Medium palate of ripe citrus/ stone fruit and herbs
Only medium acidity - lateral in aspect - mild phenolic bitterness and short finish
Great aromatics but short on palate - atypical for an Albarino due to the intense aromatics and lack of acidity/ phenolics - definitely inland fruit

No formal notes taken - This wine was cloudy purple and obviously unfiltered. Classic red fruit on the nose with a bit of funk but in a good way. Palate was medium with great almost crunchy Grenache fruit and highish alcohol on the back end. Interesting take on this grape and Id say it works pretty well. Much sediment in the bottle.

Medium amber color - almost pink - clear
Medium aromas of dried orange peel and spices - mostly mineral on the nose with little if any fruit - slight oxidative notes
Medium plus to strong palate of unripe stone fruit and nuts with intense salinity

Medium purple with mild clearing at rim
Medium minus aromas of dark fruit/ hard candy and iron as really the only secondary
Medium palate of dark fruit
Medium tannins and acidity with medium length
This wine is a little dull and flabby presently, without the "crunch" I associate with Beaujolais but not the complexity I have seen with well made aged wines either
This may be in a closed down stage right now and may indeed benefit from some more time in the cellar

I agree this is in a great drinking window right now - would prob age well for several years but no need
