Medium lemon color - day bright
Medium plus aromas of candied lemon and strong green herbal notes
Medium bodied with slightly oily mouthfeel - palate of citrus and stone fruit with nice saline/ mineral presence
Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with mild phenolic bitterness
Nice wine with moderate complexity - average finish
Very nicely made but overall poor QPR here IMO - I guess Im paying for the antique bottle shape

Double blind tasting
Deep ruby color - unfiltered with obvious sediment
Medium plus aromas of ripe red and black fruit with dried/fresh florals and hint of dried baking spice - mild oak influence - prob used barrels
Medium plus body with palate of ripe red and black fruit
Medium plus acidity and medium plus medium grained and well integrated tannins - medium plus alcohol and lengthy finish
I called Grenache here but was really torn between New and Old World and eventually called CdP - prob a testament to what was being attempted here
Very nice effort - drink now or next 4-5 yrs as there is enough fruit/ acidity to benefit from some more bottle time

Double blind tasting
Pale gold color with green tint
Medium aromas of unripe green/yellow apples and stonefruit - barely ripe peach and pear - I found an overwhelming reductive matchstick aroma initially which eventually blew off enough to get some fruit notes - confusing as website states this was aged in foudre?
Medium plus body with palate of yellow apple/ cream and distinct minerality
Medium plus acidity with medium alcohol and mild phenolic bitterness and rather short finish
I found less minerality and lees character in this than I typically find in a wellmade Muscadet - called this Petit Chablis
Score raised when the price was revealed - nice QPR
Would drink now - I dont see that this was made with aging in mind

Pale ruby - unfiltered
Medium plus aromas of cherry/ dark florals and cotton candy confectionary tones
Medium minus bodied with cherry/ banana on the palate
Medium plus acidity with medium tannins and medium plus alcohol - rather high for a Beaujolais - medium length
I found this rather lacking in character, especially for the price I paid - 1-2 points taken off for QPR

Light yellow color
Medium plus aromas of fresh lemon/ green herbs and flint with underlying pineapple
Medium bodied with rather round palate of lemon creme and herbs
Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with mild/mod phenolic bitterness and medium length
Drink now or 2-3 yrs
Rather ripe SB with nice mouthfeel from presumed lees contact

No formal notes as was taken on vacation
Color was murky and extensive bricking noted - significant concern in my mind on pouring despite a semi decent decanting
Aromas were quite profound - strong red/black currants with underlying Asian spices/ tobacco/ dried herbs and still with these wonderful and beautifully integrated oak notes - quite Bordeaux like
Palate was equally alive and really remains fruit driven - yes the secondary/ tertiary qualities are there, but the red/ black fruits here are still driving this wine
Wonderful silky tannins which are perfectly integrated at this point - lengthy finish as well
Just about as awesome an aged Calif Cab as Ive ever had the opportunity to taste and prob the oldest
Just can't imagine this improving but that palate is still so young
Oh yeah and $18.50 on the label

Light lemon color - starbright
Medium plus aromas of citrus oil/ strong fresh herbal notes and light whiter florals overlying a base of tropical and stone fruit - really nice and quite complex
Medium bodied with roundish/oily palate of ripe stone fruit/ Meyer lemon and tropical notes
Medium plus acidity which is tempered by this lush palate - medium alcohol and mild phenolic bitterness - moderate length on finish
Second time with this variety - quite under appreciated IMO and a great QPR in this instance

Dark opaque purple - almost black color
Medium plus/ intense aromas of black brooding fruit with intense smoke/ volcanic rock
The palate is really coming together! These intense tannins are really well integrated, though I had my doubts from previous bottles
Palate is dominated by this smoky/ mineral character
This wine is prob not for everyone - a really distinct and intense Sagrantino
LOTS of sediment in bottle - decanting is a must

Light gold color
Medium plus aromas of ripe citrus/ tarragon-fresh herbs/ white florals/ grass and gooseberry with flinty undertones - quite complex
Medium bodied with palate of fresh lemon/ lime and zest with fresh herbs
Rather round mouthfeel for SB - probable lees contact
Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with mild phenolic bitterness and average finish
Nice wine and looking forward to higher tiers from the producer as this is quite nice for an "entry level"

No formal notes taken as had at Thanksgiving dinner.
Everything I had hoped for though, beautiful Beaujolais with a little age but still with the crunchy fruit profile. A lot going on here, both on the nose and on the palate.

Thanksgiving dinner from magnum - no tasting notes
Medium gold color
Medium aromas - slight oxidative notes over primarily herbal/ mineral notes with not much fruit of note
Medium plus body with rich palate of ripe stone fruit and minerals - rather unexpected power on the palate compared to aromas
Creamy round mouthfeel from lees contact - absolutely delicious
Drinking very well now - would prob drink sooner than later as oxidative notes may begin to dominate and this was from magnum as noted

Deep ruby color with minimal rim clearing
Medium plus aromas of blue/ black fruit with leather/graphite and green herbal/ stemmy notes - moderate new oak notes noted
Medium bodied wine - red fruit/ plum and green stem noted on the palate
Only medium tannins noted primarily on the tongue with medium alcohol and rather short finish
I rarely miss Syrah blind but had no clue here - I surely didn't get the aromatic markers and I think the presumed new wood threw me off
In any case, I felt the palate to be a bit disjointed and finish was rather short
Not really impressed, especially for the price
Not sure where this is going

Pale gold color
Medium plus aromas - very complex and dominated by anise/ tarragon notes initially, then honey and unripe stone fruit - perhaps some old oak use
Medium plus body with palate of apple and anise - very creamy/round presumably from at least moderate lees contact and bit of almond on the finish
Medium plus acidity - possibly high but tempered by this roundish palate - medium alcohol and no noted phenolics with nice finish
I had no where to go with this, as Chenin didn't even come into my picture
The acid may have been able to take me there but it really was so well balanced with that creamy mouthfeel...
I had no idea where this was but I really did like it - never really had that intense anise/ herbal note before
Drink now or next 3-5 years - highly recommended

Medium plus aromas of green herbs and dry rock primarily with unripe stone fruit in background - not at all fruit driven and very complex

Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with a nice finish
Mineral driven wine - I really dig this

Medium plus aromas of black cherry/ lilac and green herbs - floral aspects more prominent with time in the glass
Medium plus body with palate of ripe crunchy red and black fruit and light oak influence - some mild green bitterness which decreased with air
Medium plus mouth coating tannins and medium plus acidity with medium alcohol
Very nice length due to the well balanced tannins and ripe fruit
Very well balanced wine at this stage and drinking wonderfully

Medium aromas of red cherry/ herbs and hint of black pepper

Brought to dinner - no notes taken
Aromas were medium intensity - primarily red/black fruit driven with smoky/ leather element I hadnt noted on previous tasting
Medium bodied with delicious boysenberry/ blackberry fruit and green stem quality
Medium minus tannins and medium alcohol
Maybe less interesting than previous tasting notes suggested but remains a very interesting wine and very enjoyable

Pale ruby/ garnet color - unfiltered
Medium aromas of tart red cherry and cranberry with green herbs and underlying umami character of soy sauce/ balsamic
Medium bodied wine with palate of sweet red and black cherry - much riper than nose suggests - also a bit of green stems
Medium soft tannins with medium plus acidity and medium alcohol and medium finish
Beautiful and subtle wine - I think this really checks all the boxes
The umami character took me to Pinot but from there I was a bit lost - didnt have the mushroom/ earthy character of Burgundy and although the ripe fruit made me consider Oregon, this just struck me as Old World due to the acidity and the restraint - I called village Volvay
Highly recommended - would drink now to preserve this beautiful fruit

Deep gold color
Medium plus aromas dominated by botrytis notes of saffron and ginger over a background of ripe tree fruits and honeysuckle with a hint of petrol buried in the mix - complex and intoxicating
Medium plus body of ripe citrus/ melon and ginger flavors - a little dull compared to the nose but still delicious - completely dry - possible minimal RS noted
High acidity with medium alcohol and long finish
Dry glass aromas of saffron
A beautiful wine - the botrytis notes helped me get to Alsace - I eventually called Riesling though I didnt find it obvious
This drinking so well right now but has another 10 yrs to go easily

Medium plus body - smooth palate of blackberry and green notes which are a bit disjointed, though this did integrate with some air
Medium plus grippy tannins and medium plus alcohol with medium acidity. Finish is average.
This is a step above the neutral vessel offering but still doesnt appear completely integrated to me
Would hold five years to see what happens

Medium bodied with palate of vibrant red cherry and sundried tomato with dried herbs - really savory
Medium plus sandy tannins which are well integrated - medium plus acidity with medium alcohol and a wonderful long finish!
I called this as Sangiovese but I called Brunello - really found it amazing for a Chianti Classico to have this much fruit and freshness with this age!
Very highly recommended - would drink now as I cant see this getting any better than this

I called this Albarino but never felt good about it due to the palate - this really drives the wine and should lead one to extended lees contact

Pale to medium ruby in color - light bricking at rim
Medium intensity aromas of fresh and dried red and black fruit/ sweet plum with fresh and dried rose/ florals - potpourri and touch of cocoa - really fascinating
Palate is medium bodied - ripe red and blue fruit and dried herbal notes
Medium plus to high alcohol which dominates the palate
Medium plus tannins which are well integrated - medium plus acidity and medium length
The nose on this wine is fantastic - the palate on the other hand I find a little unbalanced and dominated by the alcohol
Drink now - I think as the fruit is fading the alcohol is becoming more of an issue

Medium plus aromas of red and black cherry with roses/ lilac as well as hint of tar - no notable oak influence
Medium bodied with palate of lush fresh and dried cherry with green herbs and tar
Medium plus to high tannins - very fine grained and well integrated - medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with nice length driven by the fruit/ tannins and acid - quite well balanced despite the high tannins
Its nice to drink a Barbaresco where the fruit/ palate matches the beautiful aromas
Would recommend drinking now - obviously the tannins could integrate with time but this fruit on the palate is right on!

Medium acidity and mild phenolic bitterness with medium alcohol and moderate finish
I called this SB Chardonnay - the rather ripe palate and relative lack of acidity threw me and the saline character took me to Santa Barbara
Further research described this as a quite ripe vintage so at least I felt better about my choice
My vintage call was way off as this wine tastes quite fresh and young for its age!
Drinking well now but no signs of fading

Medium plus bodied with palate of ripe citrus/ fresh herbs and intense minerality - palate is broad and creamy suggesting some lees contact
Medium plus acidity and moderate phenolic bitterness with a great length
Just a great wine here, influenced greatly by some wonderful decisions in the winemaking - taking a less aromatic variety and giving it some skin contact and lees contact to broaden the palate!
Always impressed with this producer

Light/ medium ruby with touch of bricking at rim. Color remains intact for this age.
Medium plus high toned aromas driven by a light amount of VA - tart and ripe red cherries but dominated by sweet green herbal aromas - rosemary/ black tea and mild sweet oak notes
Medium bodied palate of ripe red fruit - sweet/ creamy texture
Medium plus tannins but very well integrated at this point - medium plus acidity and nice finish
Alot of character and complexity here - fantastic with pomegranate molasses ribeye
Not sure where the negative ratings are coming from - must be alot of bottle variation going on

Really nice bottle which evolved over the night - Initially a mineral driven wine, driven by dry rocks and salt, with minimal aromatic interest. Later in the evening this blossomed into a fruit driven palate of ripe apples, butterscotch and cotton candy. Even later, the aromatics opened up, and white/ yellow florals became dominant. Quite complex and interesting for $8. Should have purchased more.

Medium plus aromas of cherry/ blueberry with leather/ smoke/ dry earth and green herbal notes - quite complex and Burgundian
Medium palate - quite complex as well - red/ blue fruit with strong herbal and mineral background
Medium plus tannins which are fairly well integrated with medium plus acidity and average finish
Excellent wine - bright and energetic but at the same time with great complexity
Ribera Sacra is really a great middle point between the fresh/lighter Rias Baixas reds and the Bierzos, which can be more dark and riper at times

Medium plus aromas of cherry/ rose but really dominated by vanilla/ coconut American oak influence
Medium bodied wine with palate of cherry and leather
Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol with medium plus well integrated tannins and a great length
Consistent with my previous experiences with this wine, my dominant impression was balance - acid, tannin, fruit, oak - just amazing!
American oak notes really left me nowhere else to go than classic Rioja
The fruit here was a little less dominant and possibly not quite the cellar life I had thought previously - now or 3-5 yrs

Medium plus/ Intense aromas of citrus/ gooseberry and fresh herbs - no oak
Medium plus and rather broad palate of grapefruit and herbs - considered this lees creaminess at first but I think rather a bit of RS?
Medium plus jagged acidity and medium alcohol with moderate length
Dry glass notes of gooseberry and herbs
I called this Sancerre - aromatics not at all tropical IMO and I found the pyrazines here to be greener and more herbal then typical NZ SB.
The rounder palate still has me thinking - really not what I expected especially based on the aromas - best guess is a bit of RS
With the recent riper Sancerre vintages these are getting tougher to distinguish
Really nice wine - drink now
