Not giving much, even on day two. Uninspiring nose, watery palate.

Quite delicious, but I detected a somewhat concerning amount of brettanomyces. I'd drink this sooner rather than later.

flawed
Another corked Baudana. I've had more flawed bottles than sound bottles from this producer.

Quite pleased with this. We drank it within an hour of opening it, and it showed primary and peppery. It's just the type of Cote-Rotie I like - ethereal and intensely aromatic without too much impact.

I don't have much experience with GVs more than 2 or 3 years old, but aromatically this seemed to be indicating some signs of development. Or maybe it was a bit of botrytis? Either way, I was really pleased with how this was showing. It had great intensity and richness, plenty of structural backbone, and the aromatic precision that I've come to expect from Prager.

As other notes have mentioned, it needs some time to get going -- for us it was only about 30 minutes. Typical Muscadet aromatics here, but pushed to the next level. Mineral, ash, lees, and apple-y fruit that just started hedging pineapple. Compared to, say, Chablis, this was a bit watery on the palate, but no complaints here. A strong buy that will reward mid-term cellaring.

In tip-top shape. Burnished red fruit, licorice and cinnamon spice, and earthy asphalt savor. Enough complextiy to really make you slow down, contemplate, and enjoy. Can't wait to see how this evolves.

Picked this up on a whim, and it exceeded my expectations. I have next to no experience with Pinotage, so I'm not going to try and contextualize here. That said, this has all the makings of a very good wine. It pours dark, but the fruit is surprisingly vibrant and bright. The wine has great structural backbone, suggesting that it has a long life ahead of it. There's a whif of indigenous yeast wildness, and zero oak. Aromatically, it was pretty closed, but there's potential. I'd wait at least six months before opening this again, 2 years if you have the patience.

Disappointingly oxidative and one-note. Perhaps it was a flawed bottle, but at this price point I probably won't risk it again.

1st of 3 bottles: Either slightly flawed or just downright funky. There is sweet green melon and tropical fruit here, but it is encapsulated by strong vegetal, savory flavors, not something I'd typically expect from Timorasso. The wine was weighty, but had more than plenty of acidity to back it up. There was something wild and alive about this wine, but I'm uncertain if it was supposed to be that way. Looking forward to cracking another bottle in a few months.

Picked this up at Ordinaire in Oakland
Hazy green gold in appearance

Lime salt, orange zest, melon rind
Dry and angular, but not austere

Hinting at great depth - would love to revisit in 5+ years!
I’d recommend decanting or a few hours of air before diving in

Yum! A big hit at the bbq yesterday. Definitely a great wine for chugging outside. The fruit was fresh and primary, with black currants, brambly blackberries, and scrubby herbs. A good balance between ripeness and acidity. ~$20/btl, so I should probably just buy a case.

Quite floral! Ripe black and blue fruits piled on top of green peppercorn and dried dill. For such a ripe year in Willamette, this is still relatively refreshing. Tannins are grainy and refined (classic syrah for me), but presented in a softer, new world style.
