$12 glass at Taste and Savor Fort Collins. Aromas of green melon, lime, kiwi, and grapefruit. Some effervescence. Soft body, juicy, and refreshing. Would be damn nice on a hot day.

3oz pour at Taste & Savor Wine Bar in Fort Collins. Aroma is a little harsh like fusel alcohols, smoke, burnt tire, and fruit flavored vodka. Medium full body. Rich tannins, fairly strong booze, leather, fig, and black cherries. This is pretty assertive and not in the best way.

3oz pour at Taste & Savor Wine Bar in Fort Collins. Aroma is fairly mild, there is some plum, white pepper, light oak spice. Fairly soft body. The flavor is much more impactful than what I get on the aroma. Flavors of milk chocolate, plum, soft oak. Pretty solid.

This is average or maybe a bit above. Easily drinkable. BlackBerry and some slickness. Medium to medium thin body. Not very interesting but it’s an easy drinker.

Not great. Kinda thin and very dull flavors. The aroma does smell like tomato paste. Not overly offensive but also not a repeat buy.

3oz pour on a flight at Cafe Vino. White pepper, red apple, passion fruit (almost a funky-like brettanomyces aroma). Lightly tart. Flavor is mostly tropical fruit Luke guava, pineapple, and passion fruit. Unique and pretty tasty. I'm not sure I've had anything like this before.

Picked up a bottle for $12 in Fort Collins, CO. Light purple appearance. Aroma has dust, currants, and bland grapes. Toasted caramel, rotten grapes, some fusel alcohol notes, and a bit of chemicals. My second time trying this and I still find it awful.

Picked up in Fort Collins, CO for $11. This is a real solid cab. Dry and somewhat tannic. Some light jam and plums and berries. Light black pepper and spice. This is real solid buy at the price. I would definitely buy this one again.

Picked up for $12 in Fort Collins, CO. Medium body. Some notes of Welch's jelly but not super jammy. Not overly tannic. Kind of simple like a house wine at an Italian restaurant. This is really the definition of an average wine at the price point.

Bottle @ home from the cellar. I can't remember what this ran. Pours a brownish purple appearance. Some nuts, dark fruit (figs, dates, plums), maybe a bit of black cherries, and some spiciness. Not overly complex aroma. Medium body. A little juicy. Slightly jammy. Black cherries, light wood, vanilla, and some dates in the flavor. Finishes a little boozy and spicy. Ok.

Nip bottle thanks to Lukaduke for sending! Very generous. Pours a murky orangish brown appearance. The aroma is super potent and luscious even from several feet away. Gooey caramel, crème brûlée, vanilla beans, spicy oak, and gingerbread cookies in the aroma. It smells decadent and super complex. The mouth feel is a little gooey. Initially, there's some white fruit like pears and apples. It's followed by toffee, burnt sugar, caramel, light leather, plums, and brown sugar. A little bit of heat on the back end. Ye gods, this was an experience. A magical experience. God nectar.

Lots of cherries in the flavor with some leather, vanilla, and a touch of white chocolate. Somewhat astringent finish. Pretty clean. Not a bad purchase.

Medium full body. Some really nice toasted oak and coconut. Moderate fruit but not overly so. Soft finish. Easy to drink and delicious. Would buy again.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Argonaut Denver. My first South African wine. Pours a deep purple appearance. A little bit of spice goes with a ton of dark fruits - prunes, plums, dark grapes - a fair amount of tannins in the nose. Medium full body. A little bit of heat on the finish. Mild leather and wood. Dark fruit throughout. Decent but not something I'd buy again.

Bottle @ home, picked up for $10. 2011 vintage. Some ratings of this wine need to be moved to their white Grand Bateau release. Pours a deep violet / burgundy appearance with long legs. Aroma is fairly spicy. Moderately high tannins. Black cherries and plums. A hint of smoke. Medium / full bodied. Flavor has some oak, moderate tannins, light leather, black cherries, and currants. Maybe some prunes as well. Pretty nice value.

Bottle @ home. Dull strawberry violet appearance. Red cherry, slightly tropical fruity, berry aroma with some toasted bread and cheese. Moderate light body. Some acidity. Flavor is just flush with strawberries and cream. Almost dessert like without the sweetness. Pretty fruity and pretty nice to drink.
