Changed my mind after the last 2 bottles; foresee very little potential for improvement.

Excellent with a long decant. You'll miss out on all it has to offer if you PnP. Aromatic, full bodied, long finish.

Dry, brittle cork. Drinkable but not up to standard with previous bottles.

Best with long decant (>3hr). Started with 1-hr decant and 24-hr rebottled. Initial chocolate phase (@2hrs after redecanting) followed by domineering black cherry phase and finally after 4 hrs, integrating and leaving you wishing you'd opened two bottles. Should achieve 90-92 score with time.

Still needs long decant but has improved noticeably in the last 4 months.

A wine at it's prime. Huge, even for a cab. Soft velvety tannins. Dark fruit on the palate, minerality on the nose, and long finish.

Side by side tasting with 09 Clod's Nest. Classic Trinchero style. Full bodied, dark purple with nice, medium legs. Decanted 3 hrs. Still quite young. Nice noteable bouquet, nice tannic structure, and good fruit. Slightly more heat than the Cloud's Nest.

Side by side tasting with 09 Haystack. Classic Trinchero style. Full bodied, dark purple with nice, medium legs. Decanted 3 hrs. Still quite young. Not much bouquet but nice tannins and good fruit, long finish th a bit of chocolate. Slight preference over Haystack which had slightly more heat.

Very floral, somewhat perfume(y) bouquet, med to full bodied. Look forward to drinking more. Very strong varietal characteristics.

I didn't pickup any fruit. Dark earth and menthol on the nose; hot on the palate, dominated by what I'll call licorice. Hard to believe this was the same wine that others are rating so well. Drank the 2007 the night before and it was hands down the winner.

Very big nose of black fruit upon initial decant. Began drinking after 2 hrs. Nose mellowed but full, very pleasant. Dark purple almost black. Smooth and tasty. Good Monday evening backyard BBQ wine. Much better than I expected based on reviews. Just don't expect a $50 wine in a $18 bottle.

Well past it's prime but drinkable and very consistent throughout the evening.

Not a fruit bomb but definitely big fruit. Good QPR at $14. Will drink again.

Bottle open 2 hrs before decanting at which time I began consuming. Moderate nose and nice finish. Will buy more.

I don't drink many merlots. This was fairly non descript at first but gained body and character after 3 hr decant. Easy to drink and enjoyable.

Decanted at 57 degrees for 3 hrs. Really nice bouquet that improved as it came to room temp and became velvety smooth on the palate.
