Wine was properly stored from purchase upon release until consumed.
Big, beautiful classic Bordeaux nose. Full of fruit, flowers, perfume and walnuts, with a touch of pepper. Layered, each sniff has a different lovely scent to delight. Lovely wine.

12/20/21, 10:07 AM - Yes, Philippe Dambrine was a great GM, made spectacular classic wines. I was sad to see him retire this year. And hopeful that the new GM brings her experience from Angelus to keep the quality high.

Perfectly ready to drink. Lovely example of Langoa. Myrtilles, black berries, excellent balance and mouth feel.

10/3/21, 9:53 AM - Yes, kind of. Myrtilles, sometimes called huckleberries, are wild blueberries. Smaller than the farmed blueberries we get in the US, a touch more flavorful.

11/4/21, 4:00 PM - Wine was PnP. I only decant young wines (less than 5 years). Prefer to let the older wines develop naturally in the glass. If you decant this wine, I fear some of the lovely bouquet would disappear too soon.

Wine was properly stored from purchase upon release until consumed. Amazingly, after 54 years, still alive with fruit - berries and cherries - and lovely mouth feel. How lucky to have a great old bottle still in tact.

incorrect posting. This tasting note was entered against a different wine.

11/30/15, 3:51 PM - I do not understand why, but this tasting note was entered against a different wine. The Vouvray is still in my cellar. I am unable to delete this note. Please disregard.
