With another year or two, it could very easily be a 91 or 92.

We drank it in early 2022 and it was great. Well worth the investment. The wine is friendly with different foods, but not great for a snacking bottle. We had it with Bolognase and it was very nice. A great wine to complement food and get compliments on its own.

A great food wine. Perfect for the black and blue salad tonight and would be equally good with pizza or pasta where the food is the star.

Despite the ranges, this wine did very well in 2021. It took a bit to open, but when it did, there were great subtleties that were worth the wait.

If you find a bottle of this vintage, don't hesitate to buy it and don't rush to drink it once opened. Give it 20 minutes +.

Once it opened up, it was a very drinkable wine. It wasn't as good as the reserve -- which is good -- but shouldn't be considered a second label. We enjoyed it with a steak and a blue cheese salad on the side. It would also be great with spaghetti with Bolognese. A good dependable wine that never disappoints.
Red
It needed only a short time to breathe before the flavor opened up and lasted a long time before beginning to decay. The bottle was consumed by two people.
White
Nice citrus flavors; needed to breathe about 20 minutes before really tasting well.

When we first purchased from the winery and tasted it at home three years ago we were not impressed and set it aside. We tried it again three months ago and the wine has definitely improved. Nice and soft on the mouth, long finish, great with steak and other hardy dishes. We feel the wine is at its peak right now.

Give it time to breath -- it's a dark wine and it needs it.
Red
It was OK. Nothing to get excited about.

2013 Brian Benson Cellars Grenache/Syrah Paso Robles Willow Creek District Red Blend (view label images)
Very nice. We had been to the winery in Paso Robles. Good complexity, worked well with black and blue salad and strong flavors. Strong finish.
Red
More than an hour decanted to open up. Good but not great.
White - Sparkling
Nice sparkling wine. First had it at Flyte in Memphis. We tried it with chili and was fun for New Year's Day. Crisp, nice notes and very drinkable.

Not as complex as some of the other Wilson we have but was a nice second bottle for the evening. Notes of spice and fruit.

Received this wine as a gift. Really opened up and was a nice porch and summer wine. Lots of green apple and a little acid but it smoothed out over the bottle.

Very nice, especially at the price point. Best with food. A nice smooth taste, no hot alcohol taste -- more fruit forward. We'll be buying more.

Good notes. Not a deep dark Petite Syrah but pairs well with food and easy on the palate.

Would not pair with a steak but very drinkable and would go well with pasta or anything with tomato sauce. Fairly long finish to the botttle. Sour black cherry notes. Slight tobacco taste.

Very nice compared to more expensive Chards. We're fans of Rombauer chards and while this is not as good, it is also $20 less expensive. Well worth a look.

Paired well with a vegetarian dish. Looking to buy more.

Long time to open and dry finish. Nice complexity. This shipment was delayed during the winter and may have been a factor.

Took a long time to open up and we finally decanted it; however, the wine peaked for only 10-15 minutes before going downhill. Nice sharp notes and would pair well with a rich sauce and meat dish.

On the sweeter side and wasn't a good pairing with the steak we had. Still, a very drinkable wine that held up over the evening. Would pair with again with lighter fare or light appetizers.

Just okay. Had a lot of promise at the beginning. Better with food but did not open well and had a musty taste in the finish.

Great food wine. We paired it with a grilled sirloin and gorgonzola butter, peppadew peppers, a swiss/parm type cheese and baked potato. It was wonderful. The wine needed 30 minutes to breathe, but then was good with a long life. Just a great bottle of wine.
Red
For the price a nice easy wine. Better than the 2011 vintage

Perfect wine against Gorgonzola and pasta dish. Finished nicely but needed a long time to breathe.

Paired with steak. Wine seems to be at its peak now. Chewy, dark color, easy tannins. Notes of cherry and blackberry.
