Napa Last Weekend: Agree 100% with Cristal's TN. I cant improve upon it, so I will save the ink with trying to.

This wine is right up there with a couple others for WOTW (weekend).

When this releases in early 2022, grab it while you can.

98 with upside.

9/6/22, 2:31 PM - Don’t you mean early 2023? I ordered my 2018 DrC 3/2022 so I would presume the 2019 DrC is released 2023.

Year in and year out, there is no easier purchase than MacDonald. The first growth-like vineyard, classic style, awesome people, consistency and downright amazing wine sold direct, for a reasonable price, makes it untouchable. In a place where price to quality keeps going against the consumer, I am nothing but thankful for Graeme and Alex.

As usual, even in a tough vintage, MacDonald puts together a fabulous offering. Blackberries, spice box, hints of creme de cassis, herbs, fragrant earth, a bit of truffle and some scorched earth setoff the aromatics. Full bodied with great tension, this is already a complex wine. It gives you a little dark fruit, but mostly layers of minerality and a ton of earthy notions. Feels very old world, in the best possible way. The purity, elegance and overall balance are superb and exactly what I've come to expect from these wines. Nothing overdone and can age for decades. Finish is long and super savory. I believe Alex said this wine had been open for 13 hours, and it was still unfurling in the glass. Not that anyone who has access isn't going to buy, but - BUY - and never think twice. Put a 2017 Realm BTK next to it and the MacDonald obliterated it.

10/27/20, 4:52 PM - I discovered MD on Winberserkers and CT 3 years ago and signed up on their list quickly. I love their story and how they were a better diamond amongst diamonds. I wish they could tell who the flippers are and let us who truly enjoy their story and wine go ahead of them on the waiting list!
