Flavour a bit on the weak side. Lacking in flavour. Dale rates as a 5/10 as far as Rosès are concerned. I might tend to agree.

Loved it! Rich fruit, both on the nose and on the palate, dominated by cherries. Nose is perhaps a bit one dimensional at first (coming in to its own after about 2,5 h decant), but the palate is very nice. The fruit perfectly balanced by nice grippy tannins, with everything smooth and in perfect harmony. A joy to drink.

3/25/21, 3:17 PM - Oh joy!.... I found this bottle in the wine cellar yesterday. I marked it back in 2018 as "gone" but here it is! Let's change back to "in cellar". Decant it for 2,5 h... seem legit. I hope it won't be past peak... Wish me luck. :)

Oh yes... This is going to be nice. The decanting process just started... "T minus 3 h"... 2:59... And counting.

9/25/19, 2:43 AM - New Years Eve... I wish I had a better memory from that night. ;) The Barolo did its thing. 3 hours... Yes, definately. But maybe a year more or two would do your bottle good.

9/25/19, 3:46 AM - No problem! If there are no alternative go for it. But I would let it be for some time. 1,2,3 years maybe. I wish you a happy moment no matter when you pop it.

The nose is big and aromatic, a bit floral with strong notes of dark fresh berries and spice--green herbs and cinnamon. The taste is dark and deep with jammy berry flavor. While it seems a good expression of the sagrantino character, it lacks complexity. Has a somewhat peppery and spicy, but short finish. It has a good level of acidity but is still quite tannic, and seems over extracted. Could have aged this another year or two to allow it to develop a bit more. Overall, a very full bodied, fruity and spicy wine that is best consumed with food.

One word: "Damn!".... accompanied with a piece of "hi-end meat" from the BBQ this wine is epic. I have a 2010 at home but that one need some time...

6/27/15, 6:24 AM - Oh, yes. The sommelier did that very thoroughly. The procedure lasted at least 5 min. Then he told us to whait a bit more... ! We couldn' t whait longer than 15 min. I would recommend you doing the same. Enjoy, its one of those wine experinces you never forget.
