This is good. And with some trully high end Hors d'œuvre these Italian bubbles are magnificent. I can sence hints of green apples but the rest.... Just bloody marvelous. We stayed at this hotel/vineyard a few years ago and bought some boxes of wine. This was the last one down. Thanks!

I expected more. It can't peak already. What is wrong? It was 1-2 degrees to cold when opend but it should have been better than this.

Nose explosion. Wow! But still, this is not comparable to a Brunello. At all. A low range one maybe. Anyhow, a decent wine with some age to it. Much more fun than an average Chianti. No need to save this one any longer; it is on its top.

Nice together with Peking duck and sticky shrimp dumplings. Compared to a NV Pol Roger I would say the PR does it a bit better. But this is far more enjoyable than some silly Moet...

Very good Barbaresco from the epic Marchesi family. Way too cold when opend but still nice. And it got better and better during dinner. 5 more years and this Barbaresco is better than a cheap Barolo.

Grabbed straight out of the wine cellar. Pour one glass - No decanting. 2-3 degrees to cold and a bit rough. It sits for 30 minutes. MUCH better. Now lets work tonight in front of the screen... Cheers!

Nice pre dinner wine.
But we had some Spanish Fuet to it. And that backfired. Way to fatty sausage to this wine. It ruined the wine totalt. Cab shouldnt do that, right? Strange.

Holy moly!
I knew this one had to be good. But THIS good?! Opened it right up and had a sip. Daaamn. A few more years and this is a Priorat killer.
The best part? It was missing from my receipt. I don't know how much I was supposed to pay for it. Maybe around €15-20 in a Spanish wine shop in Hamburg. Congrats: me.

Brown as THE best Barolos EVER.

Unbelievable! This is trully a darn fine vintage. Apple saffron.... incredibly dry and tasty. The bubbles could have been slightly more aggressive.

The cork smelled like a candy store. It scared me a little but it smelled good. Easy on the decanting. Harsh and stiff as hell so I left it and after an hour in the decanter it started to open up. After yet one hour it was pretty ok. Its a good Barolo. Not the best but I still have 6 bottles left. Lets give it some years.
(I had to try this again even though I open one a few weeks ago but this time completely different strategy on the decanting. I guess the easy way is the better way.)

Decanterd heavily back and forth 4 times. Small sediments left in bottle and the cork was in perfect shape. As always, a large bucket af paint exploding in my nose. Harch as hell, equivalent to cacao measuring 99 % but after an hour it opens up and gets pretty darn nice. I gave it 90 points 2019 and 91 tonight so let's stick around for 2023.

Dry and clean but with fairly nice hints of green apple on the nose. Yeasty dry and pretty close to perfect on the tongue. Superb!
